NFL Best Bets: Texans vs. Jaguars Best Prop Bets on 9/21/25

It’s going to be a perfect day for AFC South showdowns on Sunday. In the 1:00 p.m. ET window, we get the Colts facing the Titans while the Texans face the Jaguars. Both Houston and Jacksonville will be disappointed with their starts to the year, and only one can get back on the right track this Sunday.

The Jaguars are favored by 1.5 points and hold -125 odds on the moneyline at DraftKings Sportsbook. The Texans have +105 odds of winning outright, with the game total set at 43.5. There are numerous ways to get involved in the action beyond simply backing a side. This article will look at my three favorite prop bets for this Week 3 game between the Texans and the Jaguars.

Texans vs. Jaguars Best Prop Bets

Bhayshul Tuten Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Week 1 looked rough for the rookie Jaguars running back. He was clearly behind incumbent RB1 Travis Etienne, who took the lion’s share of touches. Tuten was reduced to sharing backup duties with Tank Bigsby and LeQuint Allen. It wasn’t a good sign for his season-long usage.

But things changed in Week 2. Bigsby was traded away to the Eagles, and Tuten was only out-carried 14-8 by Etienne. He also reeled in his first touchdown through the air in a hectic loss to the Bengals.

I expect his usage to keep increasing in this matchup. Houston has a strong defense, but at +250 odds, Tuten has a lot of value.

C.J. Stroud 240+ Passing Yards

It hasn’t been a fun start to the season for C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans. Sitting at 0-2 after two tight losses, they need to find answers in a hurry. Houston’s young franchise QB has thrown for 188 and 207 yards, respectively, in the two losses. If they want to win this game, he needs to cut loose.

It helps that he is getting some reinforcements. Christian Kirk, acquired from the Jaguars in the offseason, will make his Texans debut in this game. This is the time for Stroud to get back on track and salvage Houston’s season.

Trevor Lawrence 1+ Interceptions

It’s starting to look like we may never see the generational prospect that was promised to us in Trevor Lawrence. Now in his fifth season in the NFL, the expectation was that new head coach Liam Coen could unlock his talent to a degree we haven’t seen before. But, so far, we’ve seen the same Lawrence; not a ton of big-play upside, bad turnovers, and rough results.

I don’t expect things to turn around against a great Texans defense. Under fire and losing trust in his receivers, it’ll be a long day at the office for Lawrence.
