Rutgers vs. Iowa: Athan Kaliakmanis 220+ Passing Yards (-106)
Athan Kaliakmanis is having a great start to his season with Rutgers. Kaliakmanis transferred to Rutgers from Minnesota before the 2024 season and had a strong first season with the Scarlet Knights. Through three games this season, he has exceeded last season’s standards. Kaliakmanis is averaging 273 passing yards per game and has a 7-0 TD-INT ratio. Rutgers currently ranks 15th in the nation in offensive EPA/pass, the best passing offense they’ve seen in Piscataway in at least a decade. The Iowa defense is always tough to crack, but it is not as elite as it has been in past years on the back end. Other than their battle against Iowa State, they have played two of the worst offenses in college football, between FCS Albany and UMass. This Rutgers offense will be by far the best they have faced this season. Athan Kaliakmanis should reach at least 220 passing yards after throwing for 250 or more in each of his first three games this season.
Oklahoma State vs. Tulsa: Dominic Richardson Anytime TD Scorer (-110)
Oklahoma State has become a shell of its former self as a program. Once one of the most consistent programs in the Big 12, they are now on the verge of becoming a basement dweller. The Cowboys had made a bowl game an incredible 16 years in a row from 2006 to 2023. However, in 2024, Oklahoma State went 3-9, going winless in Big 12 play. It was the first season that they had missed a bowl game under Mike Gundy since his first season with the program in 2005. Some thought it would just be a blip on the radar, but the red flags are all the way up to start this season as well. Oklahoma State didn’t do much to improve its roster in the offseason, and then the Cowboys got steamrolled 69-3 against Oregon last time out. While they aren’t expected to be on Oregon’s level, it showed that the players on this team might not have much fight in them.
Oklahoma State now has what should be a comfortable win against Tulsa. However, it will be tough for Mike Gundy to get his players up for this. One player who will be up for this game is former Oklahoma State running back Dominic Richardson, who is now with Tulsa. Richardson is in his sixth season of college football, playing for Oklahoma State, Baylor and now Tulsa. After his career didn’t work out in Stillwater, Richardson would love to put up a score against the Cowboys this week. He has had a strong start to the season, averaging 98 rushing yards per game. He has two touchdowns to his name as well. Against an Oklahoma State defense that ranks 130th in the nation in defensive EPA/rush, Richardson should be able to run the ball against them and find the end zone.
