Jaylen Waddle ($8,800 for Showdown) is dealing with a shoulder injury and he is officially questionable for Thursday’s matchup vs. the Bills.
If Waddle sits, Malik Washington ($3,400) will operate as the Dolphins’ No. 2 receiver behind Tyreek Hill ($9,800).
In the two games Waddle missed last season, Washington ran a route on 88% of his team’s dropbacks, but he only saw a target on 14% of those routes and this usage only resulted in seven catches for 69 yards for Washington. The receiver only scored 5.8 and 7.0 FPTS in these two games, and while Miami will likely be forced into a pass-heavy attack as 12.5-point underdogs vs. Buffalo on Thursday, Washington seeing heavy volume and excelling is unlikely. Over the last two seasons, the veteran is scoring a poor 0.13 FPTS per snap.
Hill being force-fed a huge amount of targets is a much more likely scenario if Waddle sits, as in those two games Waddle missed last season, Hill was targeted on a team-high 25% of his routes. Hill scored 11.9 and 22.5 FPTS in those two contests and he will be a worthy spend for Thursday’s Showdown slate on DraftKings if Waddle is inactive.
