Blue Jays at Rays game delayed due to rain Wednesday 9/17/25

UPDATE: Blue Jays at Rays began as expected following the rain delay, but has now entered a second delay due to an issue with home-plate umpire Brian O’Nora during the first inning. He was attended to by trainers before heading to the dugout. Another umpire will replace him.

Wednesday’s game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Tampa Bay Rays will begin in a rain delay. While previously scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. EST first pitch, inclement weather in the area around Steinbrenner Field will prevent the contest from starting on time.

The game is expected to start at 7:30 p.m. following a brief delay.

The Blue Jays are -132 favorites on the Moneyline via DraftKings Sportsbook’s odds, while the Rays come in at +108 odds to win.

Kevin Gausman (3.44 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 171 SO) takes the mound for Toronto against Ian Seymour (2.95 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, 52 SO) for Tampa Bay.
