After two weeks in the season, we’re starting to get an idea of which teams and players are for real and which were just one-week wonders. We’re also starting to get a clearer idea of how several running back rotations will play out. As we get ready for another week with every team in action, let’s take a look at my top options in the backfield. To help you with all your lineup decisions, you can find my top 30 RB rankings for Week 3 listed below.
Before we get to Week 3, let’s look back quickly at the top RP performances from Week 2. The top back of the week was Jonathan Taylor (32.5 FPTS), who galloped past the Broncos and helped carry the Colts to a 2-0 start. James Cook (29.5 FPTS) and De’Von Achane (26.2 FPTS) continued to be workhorses for their AFC East squads, who will go head-to-head in Week 3. Javonte Williams (25 FPTS), Bijam Robinson (22.8 FPTS), and Christian McCaffrey (22.7 FPTS) round out the top six at the position for Week 2, with four teams still to play on Monday night.
The first huge running back injury of the season happened in Week 2 back on Thursday night, when Austin Ekeler tore his Achilles and will miss the year. Since the landscape of the running back position is constantly shifting, it’s critical to keep up with the matchups and projected playing time from week to week. DraftKings Network has coverage to help you with all your lineup choices throughout the week, with the latest news and injury updates.
As part of our coverage, each Monday throughout the season, I’ll deliver my RB rankings. Since these rankings debut on Monday, anything that changes throughout the week will need to be adjusted ccordingly before kickoff.
