Monday Night Football in Week 2 features a doubleheader. The second of two games is between the Raiders and Chargers.
This AFC West rivalry game will feature two standout quarterbacks in Justin Herbert and Geno Smith. The two are leading 1-0 teams into this matchup.

Meyers had a strong 2025 debut with 97 yards on eight receptions in Week 1 against the Patriots. That said, Christian Gonzalez was not active for New England. The standout corner may have slowed down Meyers if he was playing.
The Chargers don’t have a cornerback of that caliber, which is good news for Meyers. However, the game shouldn’t feature as many pass plays contrary to the 46.5 point total. The Chargers are a run-first team and should dictate the pace of the match.
Furthermore, the Raiders will want to ground and pound as well. They selected Ashton Jeanty with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. He’s the highest drafted running back since Saquon Barkley in 2018, so he’s going to receive a hefty workload.
Jeanty had 19 carries in Week 1, which is something fans should expect to see often this season. He only rushed for 38 yards (2.0 yards per carry), so there is room for improvement. Still, teams don’t draft running backs in the first round if they don’t plan to make them the focal point of the offense.
The Chargers also drafted a back in the first round, so they’ll be utilizing Omarion Hampton. A run-heavy game will limit Meyers’ chances out wide. Not to mention, he’s not the top option, either. Brock Bowers will get the first looks on a majority of plays.
