With two games on the Week 2 Monday Night Football slate, NFL fans can settle in and enjoy a couple of exciting matchups. In the 10 p.m. EST window, the Las Vegas Raiders welcome the Los Angeles Chargers to the City of Sin for an AFC West clash. While star tight end Brock Bowers comes with a questionable tag due to a knee injury suffered last week, he’s one of the league’s brightest stars and is sure to put on a show if he suits up.

As a rookie out of Georgia last season, Brock Bowers set the league on fire by setting new records for receptions and yardage in a season by a rookie tight end. With 112 catches for 1,194 yards and five touchdowns, he looked like a true game-breaking talent who defenses must account for on every single possession. Now with a better quarterback and head coach in Geno Smith and Pete Carroll, Bowers finds himself positioned to take another leap. In fact, he already posted a five-catch, 103-yard outing in Week 1 against the New England Patriots despite being knocked out of that contest in the second half after taking a hit to the knee from a defender.

The former Bulldog brings a questionable designation to this Monday Night Football affair, but it would feel somewhat surprising if he didn’t suit up against a division rival. After re-tooling this offseason, the Raiders are out to make a splash in the AFC West and are 1-0 following last week’s win.

The opposing Chargers are also 1-0 after beating the Kansas City Chiefs last week, but they showed vulnerability to the pass by allowing 249 yards through the air despite the Chiefs having very few weapons to work with once Xavier Worthy suffered an injury on his team’s first drive. While the Chargers’ defense allowed plenty of yards through the air, tight end Travis Kelce finished with just two catches for 47 yards and a score. Plus, Los Angeles allowed the seventh-fewest receiving yards and 10th-fewest receiving touchdowns to opponents in 2024.

While the Chargers have a well-coached defense under Jim Harbaugh, Bowers is an otherworldly talent who the Raiders’ offense flows through. His health does raise concerns, but Smith looked for the tight end often with eight targets in Week 1 before the injury sidelined him. With that kind of target volume and a tenacity with the ball in his hands, taking Bowers to record 60+ receiving yards tonight makes a ton of sense at +122 odds. He went over that mark in eight games last season and picked up where he left off last week, and the better quarterback play as well as the presence of halfback Ashton Jeanty should open up more opportunities for Bowers to produce even in tougher matchups.

Don’t worry too much about his health, just bank on the talent tonight on the late slate of Monday Night Football. Bowers has the chance to really show out as the focal point of the Raiders’ passing attack as long as he’s healthy enough to play.

Best Bet: Brock Bowers 60+ receiving yards (+122)
