UPDATE 8:59 PM ET: Burrow could miss at least three months with a Grade 3 turf toe injury.
UPDATE 5:39 PM ET: According to Jeremy Rauch of FOX19, the initial belief after all the rapid-fire, urgent imaging today is that Joe Burrow has suffered turf toe, and will miss several weeks.
This is as of yet unconfirmed, and Zac Taylor didn’t provide any update on Burrow in his postgame presser after the near-walkoff win for the Bengals at home. We’ll have to keep an eye out for more information around the pregame for Sunday Night Football, when some injury news tends to break.
Other than that, keep an eye on DraftKings Network for all Week 3 injury notes, waiver wire analyses, and all other fantasy fallout from Week 2.
UPDATE 3:21 PM ET: The Cincinnati Bengals have officially ruled QB Joe Burrow (left toe) out for the remainder of Week 2’s game against the Jaguars. This was announced just as the third quarter came to a close in Cincinnati.
UPDATE 3:02 PM ET: Joe Burrow did indeed get an MRI, and though his status remains questionable, this tweet from another FOX19 reporter at the game sounds rather foreboding with regards to his immediate (and potential future) status.
UPDATE 2:37 PM ET: Joe Burrow (left toe) is officially questionable to return, per the Bengals.
According to Jeremy Rauch of FOX19 news, he’s getting an MRI in the Cincinnati right now.
We also have some additional video on Burrow entering the locker room. Noticeable limp, indeed.
UPDATE 2:08 PM ET: According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, as well as the CBS broadcast, Joe Burrow is headed back to the Bengals’ locker room with a noticeable limp.
Jake Browning remains in the game at quarterback. This is obviously a concerning development for Bengals fans and fantasy managers everywhere. Burrow is the absolute engine of the Cincinnati offense when it’s working. With no word from the medical staff just yet, we’ll have to wait until a likely team designation around halftime.
With just under nine minutes left to go in the second quarter, Joe Burrow took a sack on second down against the Jacksonville Jaguars and left the game with what appeared to be an ankle injury.
As you can see from the above video, Burrow appeared to be in quite some pain before athletic trainers helped him off to the medical tent.
