Week 2 of NFL action is here. Many teams aren’t happy with their Week 1 performances, including the Seattle Seahawks, who lost at home to the 49ers. Meanwhile, the Pittsburgh Steelers pulled out a high-scoring win over the Jets, an emotional victory for new quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Now the two square off, and we have plenty of Seahawks-Steelers props to cover.
The Steelers are three-point favorites at home and are -170 on the moneyline. Seattle is a +142 road underdog, with the total set at 40.5 points. There are numerous ways to get involved in the action beyond simply backing a side. This article will look at my three favorite prop bets on DraftKings Sportsbook for the Week 2 Sunday Night Football matchup.
Falcons at Vikings Best Prop Bets
Sam Darnold 200+ Passing Yards
It wasn’t a banner Seahawks debut for Sam Darnold. He completed 16 of 23 passes for only 150 yards against a robust San Francisco defense. Outside of his connection with Jaxon Smith-Njigba, he couldn’t get much going. But this week should tell a different story.
Pittsburgh has a strong defense, but San Francisco’s may end up looking elite, and it’s no wonder they shut him down. On top of that, Steelers standout corner Joey Porter Jr. will be out for this week. There’s good reason to believe Darnold can bounce back and produce results for Seattle.
Jaylen Warren Under 53.5 Rushing Yards
Though the Steelers pulled out a win in Week 1, it wasn’t a great day for their rush attack. Jaylen Warren ceded carries to Kenneth Gainwell, an unexpected development, and neither player could get it going. Warren toted the rock 11 times for 37 yards; not the best start for Arthur Smith and his reputation with the run game.
This Seahawks run defense is extremely stout. If they can bottle things up while Warren continues to share touches with Gainwell, he’s in for another tough day on the ground.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba 80+ Receiving Yards
After a breakout 2024 season, Smith-Njigba has to adjust to life without Geno Smith. It looked like he hadn’t missed a beat, reeling in nine catches for 124 yards in Week 1. In case you forgot, Darnold only threw for 150 yards. That’s called putting the passing game on your back.
Darius Slay can’t keep up with top receivers anymore. It’s going to be another smash spot for Smith-Njigba as he continues to establish himself as a strong WR1 in the NFL.
