The most-anticipated game of the early part of the 2025 season is here: a Super Bowl rematch between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. The last time these two teams met, Philadelphia exacted revenge for a defeat in the 2023 Super Bowl and lifted the Lombardi Trophy after a 40-22 victory. In Super Bowl LIX, Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts scored the game’s first touchdown on his signature Tush Push.
Will Hurts find paydirt first again in the rematch? It’s certainly possible, given that he scored twice in Week 1. But Kansas City, which didn’t even score in the Super Bowl until the very end of the third quarter, surely wants to set the tone with an early score of its own.
Let’s break down the first TD scorer odds at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Eagles at Chiefs First Touchdown Scorer Prop Bets

Marquise Brown First Touchdown Scorer (+1000)
An already thin Chiefs receiving corps got a lot thinner in three plays into the team’s opening game against the Los Angeles Chargers, when Travis Kelce and Xavier Worthy collided, dislocating Worthy’s shoulder. In Worthy’s absence, Brown quickly emerged as Patrick Mahomes’ top target, hauling in 10 of his 16 targets for 99 yards. No other Kansas City player had more than five targets, and no receiver league-wide was targeted more times. Worthy returned to practice Thursday in a limited capacity, but he’s not expected to play, so Brown should remain Mahomes’ most reliable pass-catcher.
Of course, going against Philadelphia’s elite secondary will be a huge challenge. Last season, the Eagles put up by far the best coverage grades in football, allowing the third-fewest yards to wideouts. Quinyon Mitchell built off of his incredible playoff run in Week 1 by allowing just four catches on nine targets, recording one pass defense and returning a fumble for six yards, and Cooper DeJean was even more impressive. But Brown can line up either in the slot or on the outside, and on the snaps he isn’t in the slot against DeJean, he should be able to take advantage of Philadelphia’s weak link, Adoree’ Jackson.
DeVonta Smith First Touchdown Scorer (+1400)
More likely than not, the Eagles’ first touchdown scorer will be either Hurts (+550) or Saquon Barkley (+500), given that the pair combined for 39 of the team’s 69 touchdowns last season and all three of their scores in the season opener. But the odds for either of them to score are unfriendly, especially since the Chiefs had one of the league’s best rush defenses last season and held the Chargers to just 90 total rushing yards in Week 1. Instead, I’ll choose one of Hurts’ pass catchers.
Smith might not have had the first touchdown in Super Bowl LIX, but he arguably had the most memorable one. His 46-yard bomb late in the third quarter made the score 34-0, effectively ending Kansas City’s chances of coming back. Though both he and A.J. Brown had slow performances in Week 1, combining for only four catches and 24 yards, I’m not overly concerned about him in the long run. He’s sure-handed and has the ability to line up either in the slot or out wide, which gives him an edge that Brown doesn’t have. The Chiefs have one elite coverage corner, Trent McDuffie, who lines up on the outside and could stifle Brown. Neither slot corner Chamarri Conner nor Jaylen Watson is nearly as talented as McDuffie, and neither should present Smith with much of a challenge.
