Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season continues with a great Monday Night Football doubleheader. First, the Texans host the Buccaneers, then the Raiders host the Chargers in the late game. Omarion Hampton Less Than 56.5 Rushing Yards
Omarion Hampton is a promising rookie running back and second player at his position taken in the 2025 NFL Draft after Ashton Jeanty. It was a quiet opening game for Hampton, rushing for just 48 yards against the Chiefs. Justin Herbert had a monster game throwing the ball, but the Chargers struggled on the ground. Week 2 could bring a similar offensive approach from Los Angeles against the Raiders.
Drake Maye threw for 287 yards against the Chargers, but New England only had a total of 60 rushing yards as a team. The Raiders have a tough front seven, headed by Maxx Crosby. However, they have some major holes in the secondary. The Chargers should attack the Raiders through the air, making room for another big game from Justin Herbert. However, it might be another quiet game for Hampton. Najee Harris only took one carry in Week 1, but as he continues to ramp back up to game shape, he should get a bigger share of the carries. That means Hampton could see even fewer touches than he got last week, which should keep him under this number.
Nico Collins More Than 73.5 Receiving Yards
Nico Collins is one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL. He has struggled with injuries over the past several seasons, but he finished fourth in the NFL in receiving yards per game last year and seventh in yards per game in the season prior. When he is on the field, he is a top-10 receiver in the sport.
It was a massive struggle for the Texans’ offense in their first game of the season. It should be a better performance from Houston in Week 2 in their home building against Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers rank 24th in the NFL in defensive EPA/dropback after Week 1. C.J. Stroud has also been a much better quarterback at home in his career. In 16 career home starts, Stroud has an 11-5 record with a 27-10 TD-INT ratio and 281.4 passing yards per game. On the road, he is 8-9 with a 16-8 TD-INT ratio and 207.1 passing yards per game. Stroud should look much better at home in this game and feed his favorite target, getting him over this receiving mark.
Baker Mayfield Less Than 231.5 Passing Yards
It was a quiet season opener for Baker Mayfield against the Falcons as the veteran threw for just 167 yards in that game. It could be a tough start to the season for the Tampa Bay offense. They are missing star receiver Chris Godwin, first-team All-Pro tackle Tristan Wirfs and young receiver Jalen McMillan. Mike Evans is still a beast and rookie Emeka Egbuka looks to be the real deal, but it could take time for them to really get clicking. Plus, offensive coordinator Liam Coen left over the offseason to take over the Jaguars.
Mayfield is now on his third offensive coordinator in three seasons with Tampa Bay, which makes it tough to start seasons in strong fashion. After a tough Week 1, Mayfield now faces one of the best defenses in the NFL on the road in Houston. The Texans rank 10th in the NFL in defensive EPA/play after Week 1, and they ranked sixth in defensive EPA/play and fourth in defensive success rate last season. This defense should keep Mayfield under this number for the second straight week.
