After an embarrassing loss to begin the season as a double-digit favorite in Week 1, Alabama did exactly what you’d expect it to. The Crimson Tide smashed Louisiana Monroe with a 73-0 victory in Tuscaloosa. While ‘Bama looked like it had issues in the Week 1 loss to FSU, there’s a real chance the Seminoles are simply a very good team this season — they put up 77 points of their own this past Saturday.
After a trip to Camp Randall last season, the Badgers travel to ‘Bama for the rematch, priced as nearly a three touchdown underdog. That’s a pretty significant spread for a game with a total of just 45.5 with two Power Four teams facing off. Wisconsin’s team total in the game is set at just 12.5, but even that’s not a number I want to mess with. In their season opener at home, the Badgers held just a 3-0 lead against Miami of Ohio at halftime, before ultimately pulling away 17-0.
I don’t have much faith in Wisconsin’s offense, which will continue to play its backup quarterback in a very tough road atmosphere. After taking a bad loss in Week 1, Kalen DeBoer should have his team ready to go the rest of the way out. Alabama is certainly beatable when facing other elite talent, which FSU taught us in Week 1. But against an offense like Wisconsin, I expect the Crimson Tide to look to run the score up.
After Ryan Williams and Jam Miller sat out last week, ‘Bama will be returning a pair of key offensive pieces. I haven’t bet this one yet, but strongly lean to laying it with the Tide at home.
CFB Lean: Alabama -20.5 (-108)
