This is an excellent matchup between two of the best knockout artists in the Super Middleweight division. Lester Martinez is a talented boxer, but he hasn’t had as much experience as Christian Mbilli has. Mbilli has 10 more fights on his resume and is the current WBC Interim Champion.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Mbilli is a -175 favorite while Martinez is a +140 underdog. With both fighters being undefeated, a big win in this fight could result in a matchup against Canelo Alvarez in the future. On paper, this matchup is very close as Mbilli has a slight edge in height (5’8.5″ vs. 5’8″) and reach (72″ vs. 71/5″).
Both fighters have combined to produce 40 knockouts in their careers, which is impressive. Just like the co-main event with Callum Walsh and Fernando Vargas Jr., this bout is also unlikely to go the distance with two knockout artists. As the stage has gotten bigger for Mbilli, he has continued to put on a spectacular performance, and I expect nothing less in this fight.
