For the third straight year in September, the UFC is hosting its Noche UFC event in San Antonio, Texas. The previous Noche UFC event was hosted at Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada. A top 10 Featherweight matchup between No. 2 Diego Lopes and No. 10 Jean Silva headlines Saturday’s event. Although it isn’t officially a No. 1 contender fight, the winner of this bout could very well receive a title opportunity in the near future.
From 2023 to 2024, Diego Lopes went 5-0 with three finishes and quickly rose in the UFC rankings. But Lopes is now coming off his first loss since May 2023 and has a mirror image of himself from a few years ago in his way, with Jean Silva. Lopes is ranked No. 2 in the Featherweight division while Silva is No. 10, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. Silva has started his UFC career 5-0 with five finishes, and has done so in such a dominant way while showing his electric charisma.
Although Lopes has more UFC experience, he is a +210 underdog while Silva is the favorite at -258 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Silva is -125 to win by KO/TKO or submission, while Lopes is +380 to pick up a finish.
11-year UFC veteran Rob Font has won two straight fights for the first time since 2021 and has a chance to increase his win streak against David Martinez on Saturday. Martinez has won eight consecutive fights and won his first UFC bout by knockout in March. In this matchup, Font is a -115 favorite with Martinez being a -105 underdog.
