Canelo Alvarez is defending his Undisputed Super Middleweight Championship against Terence Crawford on Saturday, September 13, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. This fight is airing live on Netflix at 9:00 p.m. ET.
Canelo has had a decorated career spanning 20 years and has earned over $550 million. Saturday is Canelo’s third fight with Turki Alalshikh of Riyadh Season, for which he previously signed a four-fight contract worth $400 million. Crawford has earned an estimated $40 million in his career and netted $25 million in the biggest fight of his career against Errol Spence Jr. in 2023.
Canelo and Crawford have each had big fights in their careers, but this is arguably the most significant for each one of them. I detail how much each fighter is expected to make for Saturday’s historic fight.
Canelo Alvarez’s Fight Purse
It has been reported throughout the build-up to this fight that Canelo’s fight purse against Crawford is $100-150 million. Canelo supposedly made $80-100 million for his previous fight against William Scull. But Saturday’s fight will likely surpass his previous career high.
Terence Crawford’s Fight Purse
Crawford’s biggest payday came when he defeated Spence Jr. in July 2023, which saw him take home $25 million, the most in his career for one fight. In May, Crawford said on a podcast that he is making $10 million to fight Canelo, which seems a little low since he is 41-0 and a former two-division Undisputed Champion.
