Ryan Weathers, Miami Marlins vs. Washington Nationals, $7,700 – There’s not a lot to get excited about below $8,000 on this evening’s pitcher pricing list, so investing in Weathers is a risky, but necessary strategy. The left-hander hasn’t started an MLB game since all the way back on June 7, yet he did pitch 4.2 scoreless innings in Triple-A last Thursday, meaning Weathers should be close to fully built up. Since the beginning of 2024, Weathers has managed a 3.56 ERA with an above-average 22.0% strikeout rate over 111.1 innings of work with the Marlins. Specific to tonight’s matchup, the Nationals sport a .128 ISO and an 80 wRC+ against LHPs in 2025. This is about as soft a landing spot as Weathers could hope for.
INFIELD

Ryan O’Hearn, San Diego Padres vs. Colorado Rockies, $4,000 – O’Hearn’s statistical pace has slowed down since a blistering start to the season, yet the veteran remains a high-quality platoon bat. So much so, that’s he’s consistently hitting clean-up for the Padres against RHPs. In 395 plate appearances within the split, O’Hearn has registered an .805 OPS and a 126 wRC+. He’ll look to add to those numbers in a matchup with McCade Brown ($5,000) on Thursday. Brown is a rookie who has not pitched above Double-A prior to August 24. Guess what? It shows. Brown’s allowed 13 earned runs in just 9.1 innings with the Rockies.

Yoan Moncada, Los Angeles Angels at Seattle Mariners, $3,500 – Moncada hasn’t been healthy for most of the season, but when he’s been available, he’s been quite useful for the Angels. This is especially true when the veteran switch-hitter is getting the opportunity to face an RHP. In 200 plate appearances within the split, Moncada owns a .250 ISO and a 135 wRC+. It’s the main reason why the former top prospect is now locked into the No. 2 spot in Los Angeles’ batting order. On the other side, Bryce Miller ($6,600) has struggled all season long to find a groove. In fact, he’s surrendered a first percentile opponent average exit velocity (92.4). Not ideal!

Aaron Judge, New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers, $6,400 – Judge is the most expensive hitter on Thursday’s slate, but this feels like one of those days where you simply can not fade the reigning AL MVP. We all know the deal with Judge by this point. He ranks in the 100th percentile in virtually every important offensive stat, including expected wOBA (.457), expected slugging rate (.704) and barrel rate (24.5%). However, the real draw here is Sawyer Gipson-Long ($5,500), the Tigers’ expected bulk arm. It’s a small sample, yet Gipson-Long has conceded a jaw-dropping 4.76 home runs per nine to opposing RHBs so far in 2025.

Nick Castellanos, Philadelphia Phillies vs. New York Mets, $3,400 – It’s been an awful season for Castellanos, but with injuries to Trea Turner (hamstring) and Alec Bohm (shoulder), the Phillies need their veteran bats to step-up. There’s a couple things working in Castellanos’ favor on Thursday. First and foremost: He’s dirt cheap. In fact, this is the least expensive that the outfielder has been in months. Secondly, Castallanos has hit David Peterson ($9,000) extremely well in the duo’s prior meetings, as he’s 7-for-17 (.412) with a pair of doubles.
