Week 2 of the new NFL season kicks off with a primetime Thursday Night Football matchup between the Washington Commanders and Green Bay Packers at the iconic Lambeau Field. Jordan Love and the home team face a real battle against a fellow NFC contender, so this contest could quickly become a real thriller if both offenses are clicking.
Here are the best Jordan Love prop bets for Packers vs. Commanders on Thursday Night Football to kick off Week 2.

The Packers looked like the real deal during their Week 1 debut, a 27-13 victory over the Detroit Lions. In that contest, Green Bay ran a pretty balanced offense as they ran the ball 25 times and Jordan Love dropped back 23 times. They really barely saw the field with just 48 total snaps, the fewest of any team, but there should be an uptick of action in Week 2 in what projects as a higher-scoring game with a total of 48.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.
On his 22 pass attempts to start the season, Love completed 16 of those passes for 188 yards and two touchdowns. His completion percentage of 72.2% looked fantastic and he ran an efficient offense all day, though he did toss a pick-six which ended up called back due to a penalty. Had that counted, this game likely would’ve gone to overtime. Still, he put forth a solid first game of the campaign and enters Week 2 with a little bit of momentum.
On the other side are the Commanders, a team which just beat the New York Giants 21-6 to open the new year. Washington didn’t exactly pop on offense as they did in many games last season, and they seemed to coast a little bit once they took hold of the lead. The most important stats to know heading into Week 2 are that the Commanders ranked fifth in passing yards allowed per game last season with just 197.7, and they fell sixth in defensive EPA/pass at -0.26. While they lost safety Jeremy Chinn as well as cornerback Benjamin St-Juste over the offseason, but they did hold the Giants to just 157 passing yards in Week 1.
The matchup doesn’t look like an easy one for Love, but the young quarterback remains one of the better starters in the league and brings some upside to the table with a Packers team with real Super Bowl dreams. The game projects as a bit of a shootout if these offenses are both playing up to their capabilities, and going toe-to-toe with Jayden Daniels could lead to a big night for Love.
While over 228.5 passing yards feels like a low line, over 1.5 passing touchdowns brings a better hit rate based on last season’s sample. Love tossed at least two touchdowns in eight of his 14 games in which he played a full share of snaps, and he threw at least two TDs in 11 of 17 contests in 2023. With the Packers offense likely on the upswing, I expect him to go over 1.5 passing touchdowns yet again on Thursday Night Football.
