The PGA TOUR is hosting the Procore Championship this week at the North Course (par 72, 7,138 yards, Poa annua/bentgrass greens) of the Silverado Resort in Napa, California. This is the first tournament of the fall swing and the last tournament before the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black next week. There are 144 players competing at the Procore Championship and below, I have featured some of my favorite bets to lead the Procore Championship after the first round on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Collin Morikawa (+3500)
While Morikawa hasn’t won in 2025, he has been outstanding to open events, ranking ninth on the PGA TOUR in first round scoring average. Morikawa has been the leader following the first round eight times in his career and he nearly just reached this feat at the TOUR Championship in his last start, with a 6-under 64 opening round at East Lake, which was three shots off the lead.
Morikawa ranks second in SGT2G this season and he finished T10th in his last start at the North Course in 2019. Morikawa lit the track on fire with a 8-under 64 in the second round that week is a California native who loves teeing it up in his home state. Two of his five career wins on the PGA TOUR have come in California, and Morikawa ranks third in strokes gained per round when we compare this field’s results in the Golden State.
The Berkeley graduate has produced 12 top-25 finishes in 19 starts this season and is worth taking a chance on to be the first-round leader at the Procore Championship at this +3500 price.
Rico Hoey (+7000)
Hoey finished T37th in his first attempt at the North Course last season and has a knack for starting hot at tournaments. Hoey ranks 16th in first round scoring average this season and he has been the leader after the first round three times in his career.
Hoey has made the cut in 16 of his 23 solo starts this season and has carded six top-25 finishes. The 29-year-old out of the Philippines is one of the best ball strikers on the PGA TOUR, ranking third in SGT2G this season, but his putting has held him back from contending, as he ranks dead last in SGP.
However, Hoey will be making an equipment change this week and using a long putter at the Procore Championship, per PGATOUR.com’s Sean Martin. While it’s a shot in the dark, this switch to the long putter could help Hoey on the greens and if things click with him and the new flat stick, Hoey starting the Procore Championship with a very low number is a possibility.
