Josh Allen More Than 0.5 Rushing + Receiving TDs
Josh Allen is coming off an NFL MVP-winning season. He would love to win a second straight MVP, although a Super Bowl is Allen’s ultimate goal. While it is only Week 1, this could be a big game for playoff implications. These are expected to be the two best teams in the AFC, so the head-to-head tiebreaker could be crucial to decide who gets the No. 1 seed and hosts the other in a potential AFC Championship Game showdown. Allen will want to put his best foot forward, which usually means utilizing his legs. Allen had 12 rushing touchdowns last season, the ninth-most in the NFL. He scored two rushing touchdowns against Baltimore in their AFC Divisional Round matchup last season. Allen should use his legs to find the end zone in the season opener, just like he did twice in last season’s Week 1 game against the Cardinals.
Lamar Jackson More Than 233.5 Passing Yards
Lamar Jackson will be able to attack the Buffalo secondary in this game. The Bills have a tough front seven, ranking fifth in the NFL in defensive EPA/rush last season. However, they ranked 20th in defensive EPA/dropback and 24th in defensive dropback success rate. The Bills will load up the box to slow down Derrick Henry and make Jackson win the game with his arm, like they did in the playoffs last season. In that game, Henry rushed for just 84 yards on 16 carries. Jackson threw the ball 25 times for 254 yards in that game. In last year’s season opener against the Chiefs, Jackson threw for 273 yards. Jackson will have to throw the ball downfield to get a win in Buffalo, and that should get him over this passing prop number.
Keon Coleman More Than 2.5 Receptions
Keon Coleman had a solid rookie season for the Bills after having a great career at Florida State. The Bills love to spread the ball around to all of their weapons, making it hard to predict which player will get the touches any given week. However, despite only playing 13 games, Coleman was the team’s second-leading receiver last season. He had 556 receiving yards in 13 games and showed that he can be the deep shot threat in this offense. The Bills are hoping that Coleman can make a jump to another level this season. Josh Allen should look to target Coleman early in the season and get his confidence going. Coleman had three receptions when these teams faced off in the regular season last year and he should hit at least that number again this game.
