The 2025 NFL season is finally upon us, and we get to kick things off with an electric divisional matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles. There are player props up and down the board to consider, including ones concerning the best receiver in this game, Eagles wideout A.J. Brown.

Best A.J. Brown Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook

Last season, Brown was one of the most consistent game-to-game receivers in his 13 appearances. He recorded 60+ yards in 10 of 13 games with 100+ in five of those contests. Not only does he have a significant game-to-game floor, but his upside is impressive as well. However, I’m not as convinced going into this outing.

The Eagles star’s receiving yards line for this game is at 71.5 on DraftKings Sportsbook. Brown, mainly due to injuries, faded down the stretch last year — he remained under 71.5 yards in three of his last five regular-season games and three of four playoff games. Philly’s offense was carried by their elite run game, leaning on Saquon Barkley to deliver the goods against any coverage and any defensive front.

And if you’re going to hand-wave Brown’s struggles due to injuries, consider that he’s been nursing a hamstring injury for basically all of training camp.

Dallas’ run defense is also capital B BAD. Last season, the Cowboys allowed the third-highest yards per carry average in the entire league, plus the most rushing touchdowns. In their first matchup of the 2024 season, Philly ran the ball 38 times for 187 yards and a pair of scores. That was followed by 42 carries for 179 yards and a score in the second game. Both were significant blowouts in Philly’s favor.

One more thing working against Brown is Trevon Diggs’ injury. It’s expected he will be on a snap count for Thursday’s game. The most boom-bust corner in the league, Diggs hemorrhages yards due to his high rate of ball-hawking, which results in a lot of interceptions. Daron Bland is a far more consistent down-to-down corner, and will be more judicious in keeping a lid on Brown. It may be a banner night for the Eagles in more than one way, but don’t expect Brown to go off.

Best Bet: Under 71.5 Receiving Yards
