WNBA DFS Picks: Three must-start players for Monday 9/1/25

Updated:

By: Alex Hunter

Monday night presents a two-game WNBA slate, with the Lynx hosting the Wings and the Storm hosting the Sparks. Below, I have featured three of my favorite DFS targets for tonight’s two-game slate.

Set your DraftKings fantasy basketball lineups here: WNBA $30K Excellent 8’s ($10K to 1st)!

F, Napheesa Collier, Minnesota Lynx vs. Dallas Wings, $12,500

Collier is worth paying up for Monday. Kayla McBride will be rested, leaving Collier with an even larger role than usual. The WNBA’s leading scorer and MVP frontrunner has made four starts sans McBride this season, and she flourished in those contests, scoring 49.5 FPTS per game with a 30% usage rate. Collier is generating 1.4 FPTS per minute with McBride inactive, and Monday delivers an elite matchup for her, with the Wings ranking second in pace and second-to-last in defensive rating.

Collier is producing 52.25 FPTS per game in her three matchups with Dallas this season, and she should comfortably finish as this slate’s top scorer.

F, Amy Okonkwo, Dallas Wings at Minnesota Lynx, $5,100

Okonkwu signed a seven-day contract with the Wings last week, and her solid play earned her second seven-day contract that she just inked this past Friday. In her four games with Dallas, Okonkwu has finished with 8.75, 21.75, 24.75 and 22 FPTS, in that order. The 6’2″ forward is producing 1.1 FPTS per minute, and she has logged at least 23 minutes off the bench in back-to-back games with the Wings shorthanded.

Dallas will continue to be understaffed Monday with Arike Ogunbowale (knee), Haley Jones (knee), Luisa Geiselsoder (shoulder) out and Aziaha James (ankle) doubtful. Okonkwo is guaranteed to see over 20 minutes in this situation and 20+ FPTS is a realistic outcome for her, despite facing the Lynx’s top-rated defense.

G, Brittney Sykes, Seattle Storm vs. Los Angeles Sparks, $7,300

Sykes has fit in nicely with the Storm since being traded to the club last month. In her first 11 games with Seattle, Sykes is supplying 23.7 FPTS in 30.2 minutes per game with a 21.6% usage rate. The guard will be facing the Sparks tonight, and Sykes’ best showing in a Storm uniform came against Los Angeles on August 10th, when she went off for 41.75 FPTS.

The Sparks lead the WNBA in pace and rank third-to-last in defensive rating this season, and in this spot, Seattle carries a large implied team total of 90.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook. Sykes should score 25+ points in this spot and is a great target for all formats.
