Opening odds and lines for NFL Week 1 2025

Updated:

By: Ciaran Doyle

The National Football League is finally back after a long offseason of patiently waiting. We have 16 games slated for Week 1, starting with the Cowboys visiting the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles in Philadelphia on Thursday night. Below are the opening odds for every game on DraftKings Sportsbook for the opening week of NFL football. Here we go.

Cowboys at Eagles (-7) | O/U 47.5 Points

It’s no surprise that the Eagles open as 7-point favorites at home on opening night. Philadelphia was 14-3 in the regular season a year ago, including two dominant wins over Dallas. Granted, Dak Prescott was not available for either game, but the Eagles outscored the Cowboys 75-13 between the two matchups. A healthy Prescott should close the gap significantly, but that still might not be enough. The Cowboys are +275 on the moneyline to pull off the upset.

Chiefs at Chargers (+3) | O/U 45.5 Points

The NFL has lined up an AFC West showdown for the second game of the season, as the Chiefs and Chargers will clash in Brazil on Friday night. The reigning AFC champions are favored by a field goal in this one for what should be a closely contested game. The Chiefs went 2-0 against Los Angeles in 2024, beating them 17-10 on the road and 19-17 at home. Another one-possession game is a likely outcome for Friday’s international matchup. The Chargers are +142 on the moneyline to get the upset.

Giants at Commanders (-6) | O/U 45.5 Points

The Commanders and quarterback Jayden Daniels will be hoping to go one better than they did last season, losing the NFC Championship. Their journey to get back to that game starts at home against Russell Wilson and the Giants in Week 1. Washington won both matchups against the G-Men last season, winning 21-18 at home early in the season and beating New York 27-22 on the road in November. Divisional games are usually close, so the 6-point spread seems just about right. The Giants are +215 on the moneyline to get the road win.

Bengals at Browns (+5.5) | O/U 47.5 Points

The Bengals open as 5.5-point favorites in this AFC North matchup for Week 1. Cincinnati won both games between these two teams in 2024, beating Cleveland 21-14 on the road and 24-6 at home. Anything other than a Bengals win would be a shock in this one. The Browns are +200 on the moneyline in this one, with the Bengals listed at -245 to win. Cincinnati has struggled in openers recently, as they are 1-4 in their last five Week 1 games. The Bengals faithful will be hoping that streak starts to change on Sunday.

Steelers at Jets (+3) | O/U 38.5 Points

Aaron Rodgers and Justin Fields face off against each other in Week 1 of the NFL season. Both quarterbacks will face their former teams in the opener as the NFL schedule makers wanted to cause chaos right from the jump this season. The Steelers are slight road favorites for this one, and it should be no shock that the 38.5 points total is the lowest on the Week 1 slate. These two offenses will likely struggle on Sunday, as they have in their last few respective seasons. These teams matched up last season, with Pittsburgh coming out victorious with a 37-15 home win. Fancy a Jets upset in this one? Fields and New York are +130 on the moneyline.

Cardinals at Saints (+6.5) | O/U 43.5 Points

This game is arguably one of the worst on paper for the opening week of NFL action, but we must take a look at every game on the slate. The Cardinals are almost a touchdown favorite in this one on the road, with the Saints +230 on the moneyline to get the win. These teams haven’t played each other since 2022 and it was the Cardinals who came out on top with a 42-34 win. I wouldn’t expect another shootout like that in this one, but you never know.

Buccaneers at Falcons (+2.5) | O/U 47.5 Points

We have another divisional matchup in this one, and this time it’s the Falcons hosting the Bucs. Michael Penix Jr. will be starting for Atlanta in this one, unlike in either matchup last season. Despite the Bucs winning the division last year, the Falcons had their number. Kirk Cousins beat them twice, throwing eight touchdown passes between the two games. If Penix can play even close to that level in this one, the Falcons have a chance. Atlanta is +114 on the moneyline in this one.

Dolphins at Colts (+0.5) | O/U 47.5 Points

The Dolphins open as slight favorites in this AFC matchup. Daniel Jones will get the start for Indianapolis, and it will be Tua Tagovailoa for Miami. These teams matched up in 2024, with the Colts winning 16-10 at home, albeit against a Dolphins squad without Tua. If you think the Dolphins can come away with the upset on Sunday, they are -112 to win. Miami has won each of its last four opening games and will be looking for five in a row against the Colts. Indianapolis is -108 on the moneyline in a game that is basically a pick ’em.

Panthers at Jaguars (-3.5) | O/U 46.5 Points

The Jaguars are slight favorites in this one against Carolina. Two former #1 overall picks will go at it in Jacksonville for the right to go 1-0. These teams last matched up in 2023, with the Jaguars getting a convincing 26-0 win. This one should look a lot different with tons of new faces on either side. If you like a Panthers upset, Carolina is +150 on the moneyline. These teams combined for only nine wins last season, so a W for either team would be a big step in the right direction to start the new season.

Raiders at Patriots (-2.5) | O/U 43.5 Points

Both of these teams finished in last place in their respective divisions last season and will be looking to start the new year with a win. The last game between the teams was in 2023, with the Patriots falling 21-17. It’s hard to take anything into account from that game, as it was Mac Jones vs. Jimmy G. This one will be Drake Maye vs. Geno Smith as both teams look to improve from a season ago. The Raiders are +130 on the moneyline if you think Las Vegas can get the win.

Titans at Broncos (-7.5) | O/U 42.5 Points

The Titans and Broncos had very different seasons in 2024, with the Titans earning the #1 overall pick while the Broncos made the playoffs with a rookie quarterback. This year, it’ll be Tennessee trying to make the playoffs with a rookie behind center after taking Cam Ward first overall in the 2025 draft. These teams haven’t played each other since 2022, when the Titans won 17-10. If you think Ward and the Titans can steal one in Denver, Tennessee’s moneyline is +310.

49ers at Seahawks (+2.5) | O/U 43.5 Points

Next up, we have an NFC West battle in Seattle. Sam Darnold will make his first appearance for the home team, while Brock Purdy and the Niners will try to have a bounce back season after a rough 2024. The 49ers are slight favorites in this one, but these divisional matchups are usually fairly even. These are two competitive rosters that will likely cancel each other out in multiple phases. These teams split in their two games last season, with the road team winning on both occasions. If you think that streak will come to an end, the Seahawks are +114 on the moneyline.

Lions at Packers (-2.5) | O/U 46.5 Points

Another game, another divisional matchup. This one should be one of the best games of Week 1 as the Lions travel to Lambeau Field. Detroit beat Green Bay twice last season, 24-14 on the road and 34-31 at home. In fact, the Lions have won six of the last seven games between these teams. Despite that and being the #1 seed in the NFC last season, they enter this game as underdogs. The Lions are +124 to get another win in Green Bay and start the season 1-0.

Texans at Rams (-2.5) | O/U 43.5 Points

The Texans and Rams both featured in last year’s postseason after a record of 10-7 and start the season pitted against in each other in an out of conference game. The Rams are slightly favored in a game that should be fairly even. Both teams retain their starting quarterbacks from last season and will look to go even deeper into this year’s playoffs. The Rams and Texans haven’t played each other since 2021, when Los Angeles got the 38-22 win in Houston. The Texans are +130 on the moneyline to get the upset.

Ravens at Bills (-1.5) | O/U 50.5 Points

Boy do we have a treat for the first Sunday night football of the season. A rematch of last year’s AFC Divisional matchup between the Ravens and Bills is set for prime time. The Bills won that playoff game 27-25 before losing to Kansas City in the AFC Championship. The teams also met in the regular season in September, with Baltimore steamrolling to a 35-10 victory at home. The Ravens open at -105 on the moneyline to get the road win in Buffalo. No matter who wins or loses this one, both teams will have their sights set on making it to the Super Bowl this season.

Vikings at Bears (+1.5) | O/U 44.5 Points

On Monday night, we have our second NFC North game of the weekend, as the Vikings clash with the Bears in Chicago. We will get our first look at J.J. McCarthy under center for Minnesota, and also see a Ben Johnson-coached team for the first time with the Bears. Minnesota won both of these games last year and will be hoping for the same in 2025. There will be a lot of new faces in this one on either side, which should lead to a thrilling prime time matchup. The Bears are +105 to come away with the victory in this one.
