UPDATE: Tonight’s Rockies-Cubs game is expected to start at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The Colorado Rockies are hosting the Chicago Cubs for a three-game series between the National League foes. Chicago is wrapping up a 10-game road trip, but the start of tonight’s action has been delayed due to inclement weather. Originally scheduled for an 8:10 p.m. ET first pitch, there is currently no target time for when the game will begin.
Chicago holds a 77-58 record on the season and currently sits atop the National League Wild Card standings. The Rockies have not had as much success, falling to 38-97 on the year. Not only are they in last place in the NL West, but they also hold the worst record in all of MLB by a full 10 games.
When the game does get underway, Javier Assad will take the mound for the Cubs. This will be just his fourth start of the season, but the right-hander has been effective, posting a 3.86 ERA with nine strikeouts across 14.0 innings pitched.
McCade Brown will make his second start of the season for Colorado. The 24-year-old, who stands 6-foot-6, allowed five hits, four earned runs, and three walks over 3.2 innings pitched in his debut against the Pirates.
The Cubs enter as -207 favorites on the moneyline and hold -136 odds on the -1.5 run line at DraftKings Sportsbook. The Rockies are listed at +168 for the outright win, with the game total set at 11.
