In a weekend loaded with marquee college football matchups, few games carry as much weight as LSU vs. Clemson. The former of the two has been searching for a playoff berth under head coach Brian Kelly. On paper, they have the pieces to secure an SEC championship. It’s interesting to see the visitors garnering so much Week 1 attention. Brian Kelly’s Tigers have dropped five straight season openers.
In this flip-a-coin battle, the over/under doesn’t offer much betting disparity. A slight 53% of the public is expecting more than 57 points. An even slimmer 51% of the handle is going towards the over. LSU and Clemson ranked 58th and 60th in the nation respectively in opponent yards per game last season.

Throughout his career as Clemson’s head coach, Swinney has not been shy about letting his passers use their legs. Expect that to continue tonight.
If LSU is going to pull off the upset, Caden Durham will likely play a large role. It was an impressive debut for the youngster, who gained 1,016 yards from scrimmage and eight touchdowns. Now, entering his second year in Baton Rouge, the sophomore could be the centerpiece of a loaded Tigers offense. However, finding the end zone won’t be easy on Saturday. Clemson wields one of the nation’s top defensive lines, led by future NFLers T.J. Parker and Peter Woods.
We’ve discussed Klubnik’s greatness. However, it takes two to tango in the passing game. If any receiver is poised to benefit from an elite aerial attack, it’s Antonio Williams. The senior was Clemson’s top target last year, hauling in 904 yards and an ACC-leading 11 receiving touchdowns. Williams scored in eight of his 14 outings in 2024 with the Tigers.
Looking for a touchdown scorer prop at plus money? Perhaps Trey’Dez Green will pique your interest. The tight end didn’t get much work as a freshman, snagging 13 catches for 101 yards and four touchdowns. Still, at 6’7″ and 244 pounds, the sophomore has the potential to be a red zone monster. Last season’s starter, Mason Taylor, is now a member of the Jets. That leaves LSU in desperate need of an impact TE. It helps that Green will be running routes for Garret Nussmeier, one of college football’s top quarterbacks. At nearly three-to-one odds, the big man has plenty of intrigue tonight.
