The US Open continues on Friday as the third round gets underway. There are some great matches on Friday, headlined by Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic and Taylor Fritz.
These are my US Open best bets to target on DraftKings Sportsbook for the third round of the US Open.
US Open Third Round Best Bets
Carlos Alcaraz vs. Luciano Darderi: Alcaraz to win 3:1 (+350)
Carlos Alcaraz dominated his first two opponents at the US Open. This is a huge tournament for Alcaraz as he hopes to maintain his career Grand Slam count ahead of Jannik Sinner. His new haircut has stolen the headlines, but his play has been superb. He had a tough opening round matchup against Reilly Opelka, but handled business in three sets. He followed that up with a dominant second-round performance, only allowing Mattia Bellucci to win four total games. Alcaraz faces another Italian, Luciano Darderi, in the third round. This will be Alcaraz’s toughest test so far, as Darderi ranks No. 34 in the world. That being said, Darderi doesn’t have much experience at the US Open, never making it out of the first round until this year. Alcaraz should handle business in this match and advance, but Darderi has the potential to steal one set from the Spaniard.
Novak Djokovic vs. Cam Norrie: Djokovic to win 3:0 (-135)
Novak Djokovic is on possibly his final ride at the US Open. He is a four-time winner at this event and would love to add one more Grand Slam title to his resume before leaving the game. Djokovic has looked solid so far, winning his opening match in three sets, then winning his second match in four sets after dropping the tiebreak in the first set. Djokovic is facing a familiar opponent in the third round, Cam Norrie. Norrie and Djokovic have faced off six times in their careers, with Djokovic winning all six meetings. The two faced each other in the Round of 16 at Wimbledon earlier this year, where Djokovic won in three sets, 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. Djokovic has struggled to beat Alcaraz and Sinner in these majors over the last couple of years, but against everybody else, he is still capable of domination.
Taylor Fritz vs. Jerome Kym: First Set o9.5 Games (-115)
Taylor Fritz is on a mission at the 2025 US Open. He had a career-best major performance when he made the 2024 US Open Final. He wants to perform in front of his home crowd once again, but take it one step further and finally lift a trophy at a Grand Slam. Fritz has struggled in Grand Slams throughout his career, but the 2024 US Open showed that he is capable of competing in these events if he can stay out of his own way. Fritz should keep it rolling against Jerome Kym, but he could start off a bit slow. In the first round, against a far inferior opponent, Fritz needed 12 games to win the first set. In his second round match, he dropped the first set to Lloyd Harris before taking control and winning three straight sets. Fritz has taken some time to get going in both of these matches, meaning this first set against Kym could take a bit longer than expected, even if Fritz wins it.
