The Yankees’ offense came alive in recent games after a dreadful three-game stretch against the Red Sox. The team’s final game against Boston and the series against Washington was much more impressive.
New York scored seven, 10, five and 11 runs in the past four games and now enter a series against the second worst team in MLB.
The Yankees will be facing Davis Martin, who has a 3.93 ERA through 112.1 innings. He’s been mostly a bright spot for a struggling squad. He allowed two earned runs, both off home runs in his last start, and he pitched six innings of one-hit, scoreless baseball in his second most recent outing.
This is a major test against the Yankees, who are on fire in their past few games. Chicago will have home-field advantage at least.
The White Sox will face Will Warren, who has been inconsistent this year. The 26-year-old has a 4.47 ERA through 131 innings. Some games he’ll allow five earned runs, and other games he’ll throw five scoreless innings.
Yankees vs. White Sox pick, best bet
The Yankees are -198 favorites, which is a bit much for my liking. If you go this route, you should parlay it with something else to maximize the winnings.
I prefer the over nine runs tonight, as New York has been on fire offensively in the past four games. The White Sox aren’t the team to slow down New York. Additionally, Warren and the Yankees’ bullpen are far from perfect. Chicago can score some runs as well to help hit the over.
