Can Eagles Repeat as Super Bowl Champions in 2025? NFL Predictions, Betting Splits for Philadelphia

Published:

By: Sam Connon

The Philadelphia Eagles rode their all-around dominance to a second Super Bowl in eight years in 2024. Naturally, the biggest question left for them to answer is whether or not they can defend their position on the mountaintop.

Even as their defense undergoes some major changes, virtually the entire offense is running it back. The Tush Push didnโ€™t get banned this offseason, either, meaning the Eagles still have one of the most unstoppable playcalls to lean on when times get tough.

Philadelphia has a lot more going on than effective QB sneaks, though, with plenty of stars to keep an eye on as they look to repeat as champions.

Eagles Win Total

DraftKings Sportsbook has the Eaglesโ€™ Win Total pegged at 11.5, which is up from 10.5 year-over-year. There is a sharp lean away from the over, with 90% of the bets and only 61% of the handle on that side of the line.

Now, that isnโ€™t to say there is a strong movement to fade the Eagles overall in 2025. After all, Philadelphia To Make the Playoffs is the second most-bet handle in that market at -370. That is up from -200 heading into 2024, all while their odds to win the NFC East went from +150 to -140. The Eagles emerging as a Division Winner is drawing 65% of the handle on 71% of the bets.

Philadelphia has the best odds to win the NFC at +360 and the third-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +700. They obviously won both last season after entering the year with +800 and +2200 odds on those two markets, respectively.

Saquon Barkley Futures Splits

A big reason the Eagles were able to get over the hump in 2024 was the arrival of All-Pro running back Saquon Barkley.

The former No. 2 overall pick racked up 2,005 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground, plus 278 yards and two touchdowns as a receiver. The longtime New York Giants star had more touches and scrimmage yards than anyone else in the NFL, finishing third in MVP voting and winning Offensive Player of the Year.

Barkley has +750 odds to repeat as OPOY after opening at +700. He is drawing 7% of the handle on 8% of the bets. In the MVP race, Barkleyโ€™s +6000 odds are tied for 22nd on the board, but that is tied with Derrick Henry for best among non-quarterbacks.

The 28-year-oldโ€™s Regular Season Rushing Yards prop is currently the second-most bet player prop by handle on DraftKings Sportsbook. The line is set at 1,425.5 after opening at 1,500.5, with 82% of the handle going towards the under on just 42% of the bets.

Barkleyโ€™s Regular Season Rushing TDs prop, on the other hand, is drawing the fifth-most handle across the NFL. There is another sharp lean toward the under, albeit not as strong as the one on Barkleyโ€™s yards prop. The over on 11.5 still accounts for 70% of the handle on 90% of the bets.

Excluding his 2020 season wiped out by injury, Barkley averaged 1,035 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns per year prior to 2024.

Other Eagles Player Prop Splits

Barkley wonโ€™t be alone in the backfield, considering he has one of the NFLโ€™s most effective running quarterbacks alongside him in Jalen Hurts. The 27-year-old strung together his most efficient season yet in 2024, with his 68.7% completion and 103.7 passer rating both setting new career highs. At the same time, Hurtsโ€™ 2,903 yards and 18 touchdowns through the air were a step down from when he averaged 3,780 yards and 23 touchdowns between 2022 and 2023.

On the ground, Hurts cleared 600 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns for the fourth season in a row.

Hurts will still be throwing to A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert, who combined to account for 75.4% of Philadelphiaโ€™s receiving yards and 70.8% of their receiving touchdowns in 2024. Brown and Smith both missed four games, with the former managing to clear 1,000 yards for the third year in a row and the latter falling below 900 yards for the first time in his career.

Here is where the props currently stand for Hurts, Brown, Smith and Goedert heading into 2025, as well as where the splits are at the moment:

  • Hurtsโ€™ Regular Season Passing Yards prop is set at 3,200.5. The over has seen 69% of the handle on 80% of the bets.
  • Hurtsโ€™ Regular Season Passing TDs prop is set at 19.5. The over has seen 93% of the handle on 97% of the bets.
  • Hurtsโ€™ Regular Season Rushing Yards prop is set at 600.5. The over has seen 69% of the handle on 96% of the bets.
  • Hurtsโ€™ Regular Season Rushing TDs prop is set at 12.5. The under has seen 69% of the handle on 40% of the bets.
  • Brownโ€™s Regular Season Receiving Yards prop is set at 1,100.5. The over has seen 83% of the handle on 85% of the bets.
  • Brownโ€™s Regular Season Receiving TDs prop is set at 7.5. The over has seen 91% of the handle on 94% of the bets.
  • Brownโ€™s Regular Season Receptions prop is set at 74.5. The over has seen 57% of the handle on 60% of the bets.
  • Smithโ€™s Regular Season Receiving Yards prop is set at 875.5. The over has seen 96% of the handle on 97% of the bets.
  • Smithโ€™s Regular Season Receiving TDs prop is set at 5.5. The over has seen 89% of the handle on 99% of the bets.
  • Smithโ€™s Regular Season Receptions prop is set at 67.5. The over has seen 73% of the handle on 86% of the bets.
  • Goedertโ€™s Regular Season Receiving Yards prop is set at 575.5. The over has seen 51% of the handle on 73% of the bets.

Hurts is the Eaglesโ€™ top MVP contender, boasting the sixth-best odds for the award across the league. His odds have climbed from +2500 to +1700 since opening, and he accounts for 5% of the handle and bets. He previously finished runner-up to Patrick Mahomes in 2022.

Brown is a far longer shot to claim Offensive Player of the Year at +4000, bringing in fewer than 1% of the handle and bets.

Philadelphiaโ€™s defense brings even more star power to the table, especially with Jalen Carter. The defensive lineman is drawing 9% of the handle and 8% of the bets for Defensive Player of the Year, while Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean are bringing in fewer than 1% of each.

Linebacker Jihaad Campbell, meanwhile, has reeled in 4% of the handle and bets to win Defensive Rookie of the Year after getting plucked out of Alabama in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Here is a quick breakdown of how the Eaglesโ€™ key players performed game-to-game last season (Note: Some of the records below include postseason play):

  • Jalen Hurts
    • Passing Yards: 11-8 to the under
    • Pass Attempts: 13-6 to the under
    • Completions: 14-5 to the under
    • Rushing Yards: 10-9 to the over
  • Saquon Barkley
    • Rushing Yards: 15-5 to the over
    • Rush Attempts: 12-8 to the over
    • Receiving Yards: 12-8 to the under
    • Receptions: 12-8 to the under
  • A.J. Brown
    • Receiving Yards: 9-8 to the over
    • Receptions: 11-6 to the under
  • DeVonta Smith
    • Receiving Yards: 9-8 to the over
    • Receptions: 11-7 to the under
  • Dallas Goedert
    • Receiving Yards: 7-6 to the under
    • Receptions: 7-6 to the under

The Eagles went 4-0 against the spread as an underdog, including the playoffs. And after the under hit on their game total in 10 of their 17 regular season games, they cleared the closing point total three out of four in the postseason.
