Nabil Crismatt has been in the majors since 2020, mostly out of the bullpen for four teams. He made one start prior to this season. He’s appeared in two games this season, making one start and pitching a total of nine innings. Crismatt is a 30-year-old, right-handed pitcher who averages 89 to 90 mph on the fastball. The strikeout rate has been around 20% for most of his career, while the walk rate has been around 7 to 8 percent. He’s a ground ball pitcher that doesn’t give up much hard contact, while the swinging strike and chase rates have been robust.
In his lone start, he went five innings, walked one and struck out five while allowing an earned run on three hits IN Colorado!
Against right-handed pitching, the Brewers strike out at the 23rd-highest rate while having the 17th-best ISO. Their wOBA is 11th-best in MLB.
Jose Quintana continues to guile his way to production. The fastball only averages 90.3 mph but he’s posting a 3.32 ERA. The FIP is much higher at 4.78, so he’s been fortunate with a .254 BABIP and 78.6% strand rate. The strikeout rate is only 16.2% and the walk rate is 8.4% while the swinging strike rate is a paltry 6.7%. The 9.2% barrel rate is the second-highest of his career while the 42.4% hard hit rate is the third-highest.
10 of the 16 home runs allowed have come off the bat of righties. 10 of the 16 home runs have been served up at home. The FIP is 5.32 against lefties because the HR/9 is 1.88, compared to 4.59 and 1.09 against righties. The K-BB% is 6.2% at home while the HR/9 is 1.88.
In 20 starts, Quintana has allowed more than three earned runs four times. He’s gone at least six innings eight times. He’s failed to go at least five innings only once. He faced Arizona way back in early April, going seven innings and striking out two without issuing a walk or allowing an earned run on four hits.
Against left-handed pitching, the Diamondbacks strike out at the 28th-highest rate while having the 11th-best ISO. Their wOBA is 11th-best in MLB.
As for the bullpens, Arizona has the 22nd-lowest FIP, while Milwaukee has the fourth-lowest since August 1.
