The US Open continues on Tuesday as the first round comes to a close. There are some great names still left on the slate, including Jannik Sinner, Tommy Paul and Coco Gauff’s opening matches.

US Open First Round Best Bets
The first round of the US Open continues on Tuesday. These are the best bets to consider for the biggest matches of the day:
Jannik Sinner vs. Vit Kopriva: First Set Total Games o8.5 (+100)
Jannik Sinner is the reigning champion at the US Open and has won two of the three Grand Slam titles so far this season. If he didn’t blow a massive lead, including multiple match points, at Roland-Garros, he would be a US Open win away from being the second man in Open Era history to win the single-season Grand Slam. Sinner is a phenomenal player and should go deep into this tournament. However, Sinner’s health has been an issue over the past couple of weeks. He had to retire 23 minutes into the Cincinnati Open Final against Carlos Alcaraz and then withdrew from the mixed doubles event last week to continue focusing on his health. Sinner should be fine long-term, but he could be a bit shaky to start this match. Vit Kopriva is not up to Sinner’s stature, but he won his first-round match at Roland-Garros earlier this year and should have enough confidence to at least take a couple of games off Sinner in the first set as Sinner warms himself up.
Tommy Paul vs. Elmer Moller: Paul to win 3:0 (-175)
Tommy Paul is one of several American men hoping to put on a great display in front of their home crowd during this US Open. Paul is the No. 14-ranked player in the world heading into this tournament and has his sights set on breaking through the fourth round at the US Open for the first time in his career. His campaign starts against Elmer Moller in the first round. Paul and Moller just faced off in the first round at Roland-Garros earlier this year. Moller won a tiebreak to steal the first set before Paul dominated the following three sets, only allowing Moller to win six games over those final three sets. Paul came out slow and let a tiebreak slip away in that match, but those following three sets showed the difference in level between these two players. In front of the American fans, Paul should come out hot and win in straight sets.
Coco Gauff vs. Ajla Tomljanovic: First Set Total Games u8.5 (+105)
Coco Gauff is one of the most beloved players at the US Open every year. The American broke through at just 19 years old by winning the 2023 US Open. She has since added a second major title, winning at Roland-Garros earlier this season. She is the No. 3-ranked woman in the world heading into this tournament. Between her history at the US Open and the home crowd support that she will get, Gauff should feel great about her chances of winning a third major title. These two have only faced each other once before, and that came at the 2024 Olympic Games, where Gauff handled Tomljanovic with ease, 6-3, 6-0. Gauff should come out of the gates hot in this match and keep the total first set games under 8.5.
