Prediction, Pick for “Hangman” Adam Page vs. MJF at AEW: Forbidden Door

Sunday night, two-day-one AEW guys, “Hangman” Adam Page and MJF, will go to war once again, but this time the stakes have been raised. MJF is challenging Page for his AEW World Championship at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door. Will MJF become a two-time champion, or can Hangman’s reign continue?

Here is my prediction for the AEW World Championship match at Forbidden Door.

Page vs. MJF Prediction at Forbidden Door

This matchup seems a whole lot closer to 50-50 than the AEW All In Texas main event did. Once again, the reigning AEW World Champion will defend his title against a former title holder. Like most Championship matches in professional wrestling recently, it is uncommon for one to end without interference. MJF recently aligned himself with Riccochet and the Gates of Agony, so an appearance from them is likely.

MJF forced Page to agree to new terms for their match. They are: the title can change hands due to disqualification or countout, and MJF does not need to use his contract for this match. With those conditions, it suggests that MJF may be preparing an intriguing plan to leave Forbidden Door with the title. A scenario that could happen is Page beating MJF in a grueling match, and then the GOA or The Death Riders attack Hangman, leading to MJF cashing in his contract.

Hangman is at his best when his back is against the wall and fighting as the challenger. But since that is not the case, we haven’t seen the same intense version of Page that was desperate for a victory before AEW All In Texas. MJF had the longest AEW World Championship reign in history, at 406 days. Towards the end of his reign, he suffered an injury, which limited his ability, forcing him to take time off. MJF is the right person to be the face of the franchise once again and has the best chance of leading AEW to even more success.

Prediction: MJF defeats “Hangman” Adam Page to become a two-time AEW World Champion.
