Home runs. Long balls. Bleacher reachers. Whatever you want to call them, people love watching and betting on home run props during baseball games. So much so, we’ve got a whole article dedicated to just that.
All 30 teams are in action on Friday night, which literally means hundreds of players to choose from on the DraftKings Sportsbook. Allow me to narrow the field down to three bets: Addison Barger, Brandon Lowe and Ketel Marte.
Top Home Run Props on DraftKings Sportsbook
Addison Barger 1+ Home Run (+340)
Addison Barger has been in a little bit of a slump lately, with only a single home run dating back to August 6. Still, even in a down stretch, the 25-year-old is capable of amazing things. Earlier this week, Barger roped a double off of Paul Skenes that left the bat at over 115 mph — the hardest hit ball that the All-Star starter has ever conceded. Barger comes into tonight’s tilt in Miami still ranking in the 94th percentile in hard hit rate (52.1%), the 92nd percentile of average exit velocity (92.5) and the 87th percentile of expected slugging rate (.505). Crucially, he’s also left-handed. Ryan Gusto does not love facing LHBs. Gusto will be called up from Triple-A to make the start on Friday for the Marlins and the RHP has conceded 2.08 home runs per nine to opposing lefties so far in 2025. It really feels like Barger or Daulton Varsho (+350) is going take advantage of this matchup in a loud way.
Brandon Lowe 1+ Home Run (+285)
The concept of Miles Mikolas pitching on the road is scary enough in 2025. Adding George M. Steinbrenner Field into the mix is almost overkill. The Cardinals’ veteran starter has been awful away from St. Louis this season, registering a 6.47 ERA and surrendering 2.37 opponent home runs per nine. Now he’ll have to toe the rubber in Tampa Bay, where the ball has been flying out of the park all week long. I’d have to assume someone like Brandon Lowe is licking their chops at the prospect of all this. Lowe comes into Friday sitting in the 86th percentile of the league in expected slugging rate (.503), while he’s also mustered an .888 OPS and a .253 ISO against RHPs in 2025. Lowe hasn’t hit a long ball in six games. That streak ends tonight.
Ketel Marte 1+ Home Run (+380)
So… Ketel Marte is just one of the best hitters in baseball now? Like, that’s a stone cold fact? It’s not quite at a Jose Bautista level, where Marte completely came out of nowhere, but still, it’s wild to see a player take this kind of leap past their age-30 campaign. Marte comes into tonight’s tilt with the Reds in possession of a 98th percentile expected wOBA (.415), a 97th percentile expected slugging rate (.576) and a 93rd percentile barrel rate (15.4%). Unlike in years past, Marte has been at his absolute best when batting from the left-side, posting a .272 ISO and a 174 wRC+ in 2025 against right-handed pitchers — pitchers like Zack Littell. The former Ray has thrown the ball well since a mid-season trade to Cincinnati, but only Jake Irvin has conceded more opponent home runs in 2025 than Littell’s 27. Seems like a matchup made in heaven for Marte on Friday evening.
