During the third inning of Wednesday’s game against the Cincinnati Reds, Neto was hit on the hand by a pitch. He stayed in the game but then was replaced by Oswald Peraza in the sixth inning. Prior to exiting, Neto went 0-for-2.

In Neto’s third at-bat of the game, he was shaking his hand after hitting a ground ball to the left side of the infield.

In 468 plate appearances this season, Neto is slashing .269/.325/.481 with a .213 ISO. He has 21 home runs, 74 runs, 55 RBI and 22 stolen bases on the season. He’s been batting lead off for much of the season and it would be a big blow to the lineup if he’s out for an extended period of time.

Peraza has 181 plate appearances on the season, and they have not been productive ones, as the slash is .154/.210/.237. He does have three home runs and three stolen bases, but the strikeout rate is 27.1% while the ISO is a measly .083.
