What happened to Brandon Nimmo? Live injury updates for Mets vs. Nationals 8/20/25

UPDATE: Nimmo exited the game due to neck stiffness.

Midway through the second inning of Wednesday’s game vs. the Nationals, OF Brandon Nimmo exited the contest and was replaced in left field by Starling Marte.

There is no mention as of yet what the issue with Nimmo is and if there is an injury, but as soon as we get that information, you will find it here on DraftKings Network. In the first inning of the game, Nimmo grounded into a double play.

He has been a huge contributor for New York this season, recording 116 hits, 62 runs, 68 RBI and 20 home runs in 121 games. The Mets play Washington again on Thursday before heading to Atlanta on Friday for their opening game of a series with Atlanta. Hopefully for Mets fans, this isn’t anything serious and Nimmo will be back in time for that important NL East showdown.
