The FedEx Cup Playoffs wrap up this week at the TOUR Championship. The PGA TOUR is off for a few weeks after this big event, so get your golf fix this weekend with all the top names in play. The field includes the top 30 players from the PGA TOUR season, so there are plenty of great options available on DraftKings Sportsbook from a matchup perspective.
Below, I have featured some head-to-head tournament matchup bets to consider for the TOUR Championship on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Top TOUR Championship Matchup Picks
Robert MacIntyre over Cameron Young (-110)
Bobby Mac was in full control last week at Caves Valley Golf Club, posting a 62-64 start to the week before stumbling out of the gate on Sunday and getting passed by the surge of Scottie Scheffler.
MacIntyre finished T2, giving him three top-10 finishes since the U.S. Open, when he finished runner-up to J.J. Spaun. He had six top-10 finishes and 10 top-25 finishes this season, and even though he didn’t get a victory yet, he does come in with strong form.
Young also comes in with good form after claiming his first PGA TOUR win at the Wydham Championship at the start of August. He followed that up with a fifth-place finish at the FedEx St. Jude Championship and an 11th-place finish last week in Maryland.
Young will be making his second career appearance at this venue after he finished 19th in 2022 when starting strokes were used. He’s among the PGA TOUR leaders in driving distance and ranks in the top 10 in putting, so he should be a good fit for East Lake, but he doesn’t have an extensive history here, especially since the latest restoration work.
Last year, MacIntyre made his debut on this track and finished T17 (counting starting strokes), but he finished with an exceptional 64 on Sunday, which could set him up to post another strong finish this week.
Both of these players are looking to lock themselves into a Ryder Cup spot for their respective squads, but after looking so strong last week and logging a big finish last year, I’m giving Bobby Mac the edge in this evenly split matchup.
Maverick McNealy over Keegan Bradley (-115)
Speaking of the Ryder Cup, Captain Keegan Bradley is teeing it up this week. He’s matched up with youngster Maverick McNealy in this prop. Bradley has lots going on, obviously, but he has still played well this season, picking up a huge win at the Travelers Championship.
Since then, Bradley has faded a little bit, finishing T30 or worse in four straight events, including a missed cut after that victory until last week when he finished T17 at the BMW. He does have the edge in experience at this venue, with six appearances at the TOUR Championship in his career but just one finish in the top 10. He finished T21 last year.
McNealy will be making his debut at the TOUR Championship, but he comes in with great momentum after a third-place finish last week at the BMW. He finished in the top 30 in all but one of his last six events, including the Scottish Open, The Open Championship, and the Wyndham.
Since he’s in much better form and Bradley has other responsibilities to focus on, I expect the youngster to finish ahead of the veteran in this matchup.
Harry Hall over Corey Conners (+100)
There aren’t many matchups on the board with plus-money odds this week with so many evenly-matched duos. In this head-to-head, I’m taking another rising star in Harry Hall, who comes into his East Lake debut looking to make a statement.
Hall hasn’t won this year on the PGA TOUR, but he has been scalding hot with no finish worse than a T28 in his last 11 events. He has five top-15 finishes during that span as well, including a T15 at the Wyndham just before the FedExCup Playoffs and a solo sixth place finish last week at the BMW.
Hall leads this entire elite field in Strokes Gained: Putting over the last 24 rounds and is fourth in Total Strokes Gained over that span. In contrast, Conners is ranks 24th of 30 golfers in Total Strokes Gained over that same timeframe.
Conners is a much more proven commodity on the PGA TOUR than Hall, but he has struggled lately aside from a T10 at The Open Championship. He withdrew from the U.S. Open, finished T50 at the St. Jude, and solo 39th out of 50 golfers last week.
Conners does have more experience than Hall at this venue, but he hasn’t finished in the top 20 in four previous starts in the TOUR Championship.
I’ll take Hall to stay in form and post another strong finish while Conners completes another solid season without a top finish at this event.
