The Texas Rangers pinch hit for corner infielder Jake Burger ($3,000; 7.0 FPTS) on Sunday afternoon against the Blue Jays. Burger went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI before leaving the game in the seventh inning. While there was no clear injury at any point in Sunday’s contest, the team announced that he left the game with left wrist discomfort.
He was replaced by Ezequiel Duran, who remained in the game at 1B. If Burger is forced to miss time, Duran could be one of the biggest beneficiaries. The Rangers were also without veteran bat Marcus Semien on Saturday due to wrist issues, but Semien is back in the lineup Sunday and went 3-for-3 with a double, a homer, a walk, and two RBI in his first four plate appearances.
In his first year in Texas, Burger is hitting .242 with 12 homers and a .298 wOBA in 84 games.
