Asakura entered the UFC as a RIZIN Champion, who never lost his title. He challenged Alexandre Pantoja for the championship in his first bout with the promotion, and although it didn’t go his way, he remains a highly skilled fighter.
Now, Asakura is taking a step down in competition to face Tim Elliott, who has won three of his previous four contests. Just like Pantoja, Elliott is talented on the ground, so Asakura must show improved takedown defense to avoid what happened against the champion. However, it is common for fighters to struggle in their first UFC fight, so we should see a more aggressive version of Asakura this time around.
Although Elliott is the UFC veteran with more experience in the Octagon, Asakura is a big -310 favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook. With Asakura’s previous two wins coming by knockout and seven of nine, you can get him to beat Elliott by KO/TKO at +150.
