The Sky are hosting the Valkyries on Friday. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Golden State is favored by 5.5 points and this game carries a total of 151 points.

Below, I break down the matchup between the Sky and the Valkyries and give a pick for the game.

Sky vs. Valkyries preview, prediction

The Valkyries and Sky are in two very different states right now. Golden State is in pursuit of a playoff spot, while Chicago is second to last in the standings. The Valkyries are 2-0 against the Sky this season and are 7-3 overall since the All-Star break. Meanwhile, Chicago is 1-9 since the break.

Veronica Burton has been leading the way for Golden State. She is coming off a career-high 30 points vs. the Mystics. Tiffany Hayes and Cecilia Zandalasini have also had great moments for Golden State recently.

For the struggling Sky, Angel Reese (back) remains sidelined without a timetable for a return. With the All-Star out, Kamilla Cardoso has put up solid numbers as Chicago’s primary big, but outside of her efforts, the club has been a disaster, especially on the offensive end.

The Sky rank dead last in offensive rating and the team hasn’t scored more than 70 points in six consecutive games, including a 73-66 loss to the Valkyries to begin this run. Golden State has been hanging its hat on the defensive end lately, ranking fifth in defensive rating since the All-Star break. Chicago’s offense should once again be a mess in this tough matchup vs. Golden State.

Sky vs. Valkyries pick, best bet

The ascending Valkyries should have no issue defeating this abysmal Sky team. Golden State is a must-bet at -5.5. This season, the Valkyries have been elite at covering the spread with a league-best 20-12-0 ATS record.

Best bet: Valkyries -5.5 (-112)
