There are 11 games of MLB action across today’s August 11th slate. The postseason race is heating up with every game carrying a bit more weight, and teams around the league are beginning to feel the pressure of the holes they find themselves in. With the dust of the Trade Deadline having settled, each team is braced for battle with its current squad. Plenty of action is still set to occur, and there are several ways to get in on the excitement. One of the more unique ways to get involved with one of the newest features on DraftKings this year is Pick6 Fantasy Baseball!
This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for today’s action, 8/11/25. You simply choose whether each set statistic will be more or less than the set number. With the stage set, here are my favorite picks on tonight’s MLB slate.
Taijuan Walker More Than 4.5 Hits Against
It has been a frustrating tenure for Taijuan Walker in Philadelphia, but the 32-year-old is quietly amidst a resurgent season in which he has filled a role in both the bullpen and starting rotation. Across his 79.0 innings pitched, Walker is posting a 3.53 ERA with 60 strikeouts and 78 hits allowed.
Walker deserves credit for battling through, but the underlying metrics are still not buying his recent stretch. He ranks in the 37th percentile or below in expected ERA, expected batting average, fastball velocity, chase rate, whiff percentage, and strikeout percentage. Walker is coming off a six-inning scoreless start in his previous game in which he allowed just four hits. However, he allowed 22 combined hits in his previous three starts and has given up more than 4.5 hits in six of his 12 starts overall.
The Reds rank 16th in batting average and 17th in hits. Walker has faced the Reds’ lineup across 46 at-bats in his career and has given up 10 hits in this stretch. Opponents are hitting the ball hard against Walker and he has benefited from most of these finding his Phillies teammates. He is due for some regression, so allowing more than 4.5 hits will be well within play tonight.
Aaron Judge More Than 0.5 Home Runs
Since returning from his elbow injury, Aaron Judge is 3-for-15 at the plate and has not hit a home run across five games. Tonight feels like a perfect opportunity to snap this streak against the Minnesota Twins. Zebby Matthews will be on the mound for the Twins, making just his ninth start of the season and 18th of his career. He enters with a 5.17 ERA on the year and has allowed 15 home runs across his 76.0 career innings.
So far this season, Judge has tallied 37 home runs with 26 coming against right-handed pitching. He is slashing .341/.434/.662 against right-handers. Minnesota also traded away several key pieces of the bullpen at the Trade Deadline and holds the seventh-worst bullpen ERA at 4.33, so don’t be discouraged if Matthews is chased from the game early. Judge also has 11 home runs against the Twins across 40 career games and will be playing at home in a hitter-friendly ballpark.
It is only a matter of time until Judge gets back on track and this is about as ideal a matchup as he could ask for. Look for the Yankees slugger to add to his MVP case and put the ball over the fence for the first time since he returned from injury.
James Wood More Than 1.5 Total Bases
It has been a bleak season for the Washington Nationals, but they have found some intriguing young talents that will be the foundation of their future. James Wood is firmly in this category, slashing .257/.357/.487 with a .844 OPS this year. The 22-year-old has 25 home runs, 25 doubles, and 77 RBIs.
Wood snapped a home run drought on Saturday and is coming off back-to-back two-hit games. He also enters having tallied a double in three straight games, including two doubles yesterday. Bailey Falter will be on the mound for Kansas City tonight and gave up seven earned runs in four innings during his Royals debut. He is posting a 4.14 ERA on the season overall with 103 hits conceded across his 117.1 innings, and he has allowed nine home runs in just six starts since the beginning of July.
Despite batting left-handed, Wood has hit better against left-handed pitchers this season. He is posting a .271 batting average against lefties compared to .250 against righties. With Falter not striking much fear from a matchup perspective, look for Wood to continue by recording more than 1.5 total bases tonight.
William Contreras More Than 1.5 Total Bases
William Contreras has been seeing the ball incredibly well at the plate lately as a driving force behind the Brewers’ nine-game winning streak. He has six home runs over his past 14 games while posting a .354 batting average and a 1.217 OPS. Across the season overall, the 27-year-old is slashing .255/.354/.389 with 12 home runs, 20 doubles, and 54 RBIs.
Andrew Heaney will be on the mound for the Pirates tonight. He enters with a 4.77 ERA with 22 home runs allowed across his 23 appearances and 110 hits across 115.0 innings pitched. Contreras is 3-for-6 against Heaney in his career with two doubles and an RBI. The Brewers catcher is also posting a .746 OPS against left-handed pitching overall.
Contreras has three home runs across his past two games and has 17 hits across his past 12 games. With success against Heaney in the past and the recent hot streak in mind, look for Contreras to extend this strong stretch by recording more than 1.5 total bases tonight.
Logan Webb More Than 4.5 Strikeouts
Logan Webb is fifth in the MLB this season with 165 strikeouts. He is second in the majors in innings pitched at 147.1 and is posting a 3.24 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and a career-best 10.1 strikeouts per nine innings. Webb has shown no signs of slowing down and tallied 21 strikeouts across his past two starts. He has tallied more than 4.5 strikeouts in 20 of the 24 games overall.
It will be a tough matchup against a solid Padres team tonight. San Diego enters ranked 11th in team batting average, 15th in hits, 29th in home runs, and 25th in total bases while striking out the third fewest times. But Webb has made two starts against the Padres already this year and tallied more than 4.5 strikeouts in each, with 13 strikeouts across his 13 innings pitched. Fernando Tatis Jr. struck out three times in these matchups and went 1-for-7 in these contests overall. Look for the Giants starter to continue cruising through a strong season and tally at least five strikeouts again tonight.
Junior Caminero More Than 0.5 Home Runs
It has been a breakout year for Junior Caminero, who is slashing .258/.296/.520 with a career-best .817 OPS. He has 32 home runs and 80 RBIs already this season, which are each already comfortably career highs. He will get the benefit of facing the Athletics tonight in Sutter Health Park, which is one of the most hitter-friendly parks in all of baseball. With dimensions as short as 325 and 330 feet in the corners, Caminero has a great chance to add to his home run total.
Jeffrey Springs will be on the mound for the Athletics. He enters with a 3.89 ERA with a 12% home run rate on his fastballs. Springs has started 22 games so far this season with 22 home runs and 108 hits allowed. Caminero has faced Springs three times in their career with one double notched in these opportunities.
Caminero has four home runs across his past four games and seven hits over this stretch. With a favorable ballpark and a vulnerable pitcher, look for the Rays star to continue his strong streak and add to his home run total tonight.
