Will Christian McCaffrey Look Like Himself In 2025? NFL Predictions, Betting Splits for 49ers

Christian McCaffrey was the runner-up for Comeback Player of the Year back in 2023. He’s not the favorite on DraftKings Sportsbook at the moment, but he’s very much in the conversation for 2025.

But, McCaffrey’s return is just the start of things for 49ers fans. After a let-down 2024, San Francisco is looking to get back in the Super Bowl conversation. Unfortunately for Niners fans, some of the action around San Fran hasn’t exactly been ideal.

49ers Win Total

After going 6-11 last season, San Francisco’s 2025 win total is set at 10.5. That’s a one-game dip from last season’s total, so the Niners are expected to bounce back in some capacity. Here’s how some of their odds look:

  • Super Bowl +1800
  • Conference Winner +700
  • Division Winner +100
  • To Make the Playoffs -200

Each of those odds is an increase from their preseason mark within the given markets in 2024. The forecast muddies further when you see the sharp action on SF’s win total. On 42% of the bets, the under has seen 47% of the handle. So, the over is the popular play, but the under has a sharp lean.

Similarly, the under is emerging as the sharp play on the 49ers‘ Regular Season Division Wins. The line is set at 3.5. The under has seen 48% of the handle on just 11% of the bets.

Christian McCaffrey Futures Splits

Dak Prescott and Aidan Hutchinson both have +275 odds to be named Comeback Player of the Year, leading the field with the shortest odds. After opening at +300, McCaffrey is right behind them at +370. To this point, the SF RB has seen 11% of the handle on 10% of the bets. While those splits don’t track with the odds movement, they’re enough to make McCaffrey worth considering โ€” especially since he just came up short last time that he was up for this award.

In the Offensive Player of the Year discussion, McCaffrey is further down the board at +2200. That’s a big bump from his opening line of +1600. Throughout, he’s seen six percent of the handle from this market on five percent of the bets.

Looking to his season-long player prop market, his Regular Season Rushing Yards mark is set at 950.5. The under has only seen 15% of the bets on this play, but those picks account for 30% of the market. Not a good sign for 49ers fans. That’s a number he’s crushed in his last two healthy seasons, but sharps like the under.

Also worth noting: In the STAT LEADERS category, McCaffrey (+2200) ranks fourth in percentage of handle in the Most Regular Season Rushing Touchdowns market.

Other Notable Player Prop Splits

George Kittle has a pair of season-long props up on DraftKings Sportsbook. The over on both options have emerged as public plays:

  • Kittle’s Regular Season Receiving Yards prop is set at 900.5. The over has seen 89% of the handle on 95% of the bets.
  • His Regular Season Receiving TDs is 6.5. The over has seen 86% of the handle on 96% of the bets.

Low percentage of bets toward the under on those Kittle props, but they’ve gotten some sharp action.

Similar situation with Brock Purdy’s season-long props:

  • Purdy’s Regular Season Passing Yards prop is set at 3800.5. The under has seen 48% of the handle on 42% of the bets.
  • His Regular Season Passing TDs is 23.5. The over has seen 75% of the handle on 80% of the bets.

Of these four, the under on Purdy’s passing yards prop has the best splits. Not a popular option, but also not a rare play, all while having a greater handle percentage than bet percentage.

While the data above will help you with season-long plays, the following stats produced by McCaffrey, Kittle, Purdy, Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings in 2024 are instead applicable to gameday player props.

  • Christian McCaffrey
    • Rushing Yards: 4-0 to the under
    • Rush Attempts: 3-1 to the under
    • Receptions: 3-1 to the under
  • George Kittle
    • Receiving Yards: 9-5 to the over
    • Receptions: 10-3 to the over
  • Brock Purdy
    • Passing Yards: 9-6 to the over
    • Passing TDs: 9-6 to the under
    • Rushing Yards: 11-4 to the over (Best mark for a QB last season.)
  • Brandon Aiyuk
    • Receiving Yards: 6-1 to the under
    • Receptions: 6-1 to the under
  • Jauan Jennings
    • Receiving Yards: 9-6 to the over
    • Receptions: 9-3 to the over
