The Beast Incarnate, former 10-time WWE Champion Brock Lesnar, made a shocking return at WWE SummerSlam on August 3 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Lesnar’s music hit, and he entered the ring, immediately hitting John Cena, who had just lost his Undisputed Championship to Cody Rhodes, with an F5.

What is next for John Cena and Brock Lesnar?
Many big moments happened at WWE SummerSlam, but none as significant as when the unthinkable happened: Lesnar’s return. If Lesnar faces Cena at the next premium live event, Clash in Paris, then they must strike while the iron is hot and have a face-to-face on SmackDown between the two.
Cena only has 12 dates remaining of his retirement tour, with likely five or fewer matches. Tonight on SmackDown, Cena is scheduled to appear in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. After this event, Cena’s next scheduled date isn’t until August 22. Having a good guy Cena against a heel Lesnar will make for a great story. If they do face off at Clash in Paris, it won’t be a lengthy build, but it has the potential to be a special program between two legends.
Although it is currently unknown when the beast will show up next, whenever it may be, it will create another entertaining moment for the fans. The last time we saw Lesnar, he raised Rhodes’ hand at SummerSlam 2023. With Cena’s career winding down with no other clear opponent, it would be surprising if we didn’t see Cena vs. Lesnar soon.
