While the anticipation surrounding Travis Hunter is good for headline, there are more pressing matters in Jacksonville. Namely, Trevor Lawrence.
After reaching the playoffs in his sophomore campaign, Lawrence hasn’t been able to lead the Jaguars back to the postseason. For those expecting Jacksonville to return to the playoffs in 2025, you’d better not look at their win total on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Jaguars Win Total
Let’s rip the bandage off. Last season, the Jags had an 8.5 win total. This year, after going 0-7 straight-up against playoff teams throughout 2024, that mark has dipped to 7.5.
To make matters worse, sharps are still taking the under. The under has seen 52% of the handle on just 42% of the bets.
Moreover, the Jaguars are +155 to make the playoffs this year. Last year, they closed at +100 before the season. At that +155 mark, the Jaguars are the fifth-least popular option in the To Make The Playoffs market.
Travis Hunter Futures Splits
Plenty of ways to back Hunter on DraftKings Sportsbook before Week 1.
Looking to the awards market, he’s gotten a bit more action in the Defensive Rookie of the Year market than Offensive Rookie of the Year:
- DROY (+800): 13% of handle on 12% of bets
- OROY (+1000): Nine percent of handle on eight percent of bets
Hunter’s OROY odds opened at +750, so that increase doesn’t bode well. If you’re looking to attack either of these, DROY’s betting stats are more promising, especially when considering his odds have bumped from +850 to +800 following the action he’s seen.
As for season-long player props:
- Hunter’s Regular Season Receiving Yards prop is set at 725.5. The over has seen 82% of the handle on 77% of the bets.
- His Regular Season Receiving TDs prop is set at 4.5. The over has seen 84% of the handle on 82% of the bets.
While Hunter’s TDs number may feel easier to top, the splits surrounding his season-long yards prop are much stronger.
Other Notable Player Prop Splits
New Jaguars Head Coach Liam Coen has seen a little action in the Coach of the Year conversation. Six percent of the handle and four percent of the bets have been thrown his way, making him an option to consider at +1200.
Looking to the season-long player prop markets, Trevor Lawrence’s Regular Season Passing Yards option is of interest. Set at 3700.5, the over has seen 72% of the handle on 63% of the bets. For those looking for a pro-Jaguars bet, this is one the sharps are in on.
In the other direction, Brian Thomas Jr.’s Regular Season Receiving Yards prop is set at 1150.5. The under has seen 14% of the handle on just four percent of the bets. Small set of percentages, but this under has a sharp lean.
