Athletics Moneyline (-144)

The Athletics may not be the first choice for many bettors in a Moneyline parlay, but their offense has been too hot to ignore as of late. They’re 9-8 since the All-Star Game and just dominated the Nationals in a 16-7 win last night, and they’ve tallied an incredible 45 hits in their last four games. The A’s .859 OPS since the ASG very quietly ranks second in the MLB over that span as they’re fourth in OBP and first in slugging.

In contrast, Nationals don’t bring similar form with a .678 OPS over the same span, good for 26th overall. Lefties are the poorer split for the Nats and they face one in Jeffrey Springs (4.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 102 SO). Righty Cade Cavalli makes his second MLB start for Washington tonight after going 4.1 innings with six hits and seven earned runs in his first appearance. I’m backing the A’s tonight.

MIL Brewers Moneyline (+108)

The Brewers are an impressive 13-4 since the ASG with the MLB’s best record at 69-44. They’re 8-2 across their last 10 games with baseball’s second-best batting average and fifth-best OPS over their last 17 contests. There’s plenty to like about the Brew Crew this evening, even as they face a quality pitcher in Atlanta. Meanwhile, the Braves are just 24th in batting average and 14th in OPS since the ASG, and we’ve seen how inconsistent this lineup can be from game to game all year.

In this matchup, Milwaukee southpaw Jose Quintana (3.50 ERA, 1.35 WHIP, 59 SO) battles Atlanta right-hander Spencer Strider (3.71 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 92 SO). Strider’s good, but he hasn’t quite recovered from injury to regain his old elite form. The Brewers are a plus-money underdog and can bump the payout of this parlay a good deal, so they’re a nice play this evening for these purposes.

SEA Mariners Moneyline (-272)

Finally we look toward the Pacific Northwest to close out the slate. The Mariners are 10-8 since the ASG and their offense hasn’t clicked yet following the addition of major Trade Deadline acquisitions Eugenio Suarez and Josh Naylor. However, it’s still quite difficult to trust the White Sox despite a recent hot streak, and the pitching matchup does favor the home team tonight.

George Kirby (4.13 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 74 SO) takes the mound for the Mariners with strong play over his last seven starts. In that span, he boasts a 2.61 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with a 5-2 record, so he brings Seattle an edge against Jonathan Cannon (4.77 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, 75 SO) whose recent number look like the opposite of Kirby’s. This could end up a little bit trap game-y, but the Mariners have the talent to get the job done and are bound to start putting those pieces together soon.
