Even though Karrion Kross has appeared on two recent premium live events, his WWE contract is nearing an end. Sami Zayn defeated Kross at SummerSlam 2025. In 2025, Kross has built a cult like following on social media and with fans in arenas around the world.
According to Fightful, Karrion Kross and Scarlett’s deals are set to expire this week. Is a WWE return on the table, or will the popular duo head to the competition, AEW? Kross is in his second stint in WWE, having been with the company from 2020 to 2021 and then returning in 2022.
Where could Karrion Kross go next?
The easy answer is the second biggest professional wrestling promotion in the United States, All Elite Wrestling. Many former WWE wrestlers have gone to AEW after leaving WWE. Even though a ton of ex-WWE people have gone there, it could be a perfect fit for the former NXT Champion.
Kross has shown his creative ability on social media with the creation of a documentary at WrestleMania 41. If AEW allows Kross to have more input on his storylines, they could capitalize on his potential. Kross leaving and entering a new company could be good for him.
In 2025, Kross has only had five matches on either WWE Raw, SmackDown, or a premium live event. He has primarily been used this year in weekly backstage segments. Since his return to WWE in 2022, Kross has struggled to gain momentum and establish himself as a top superstar on WWE TV.
Fans chant “We want Kross” at SummerSlam Post Show
After Kross lost to Zayn at SummerSlam, fans were outraged and began chanting for him when Triple H was on the WWE Post Show. Triple H thought they were saying, “We want Brock.”
Former WWE Superstar, Braun Strowman chimed in on X, responding to Kross’s quote tweet, “Unreal. They write the scripts…But the fans write the truth. Thank you, Tick tock.” Strowman is currently a free agent after being released by WWE earlier this year.
