It’s been a rough week for Yankees fans, but good news is on the way. Superstar outfielder Aaron Judge will be activated on Tuesday and return the lineup, per manager Aaron Boone.
It couldn’t come at a better time. The Yankees are in the middle of a four-game losing streak, including a sweep by the Marlins and an extra-innings loss to the Rangers. They have significant problems to address, but getting the best hitter in baseball back in the lineup is a big boost.
Judge is batting .342 on the season with 37 home runs in 103 games. New York desperately needs the MVP’s bat if it wants to stay in the playoff picture.
Judge is likely to see time at designated hitter before the injury is fully healed. With the nature of his elbow injury, it’s unlikely they want him throwing balls with full force. But there’s a lot of baseball left to play.
