MLB Picks Today: Top Player Props and Team Bets for Monday, August 4, 2025
Christian Yelich 3+ H/R/RBI +150 vs. Atlanta Braves
It came as no surprise that Erick Fedde’s Braves debut was rocky. The newly acquired starter lasted just 4.2 innings, giving up four runs on five hits, with three strikeouts and two walks. Fedde has now allowed at least three earned runs in six consecutive starts dating back to June 25. I’m expecting more of the same tonight against the Brewers—especially from Christian Yelich.
Fedde has struggled significantly against left-handed hitters this season, allowing a .379 wOBA, a 6.32 FIP, and surrendering 11 of his 15 home runs to lefties. That’s a green light for Yelich, who’s been crushing sinkers—Fedde’s primary pitch. Dating back to last season, Yelich owns a .447 wOBA and a .244 ISO against sinkers, putting him in a strong position to deliver tonight.
Jesus Luzardo to record a win +125 vs. Baltimore Orioles
I like this spot for Luzardo against an Orioles team that’s been very poor against lefties. Tonight’s projected lineup owns a combined .302 wOBA, .113 ISO, and 23% strikeout rate versus left-handed pitching this season. Those numbers get even worse against four-seam fastballs from lefties, dropping to a .287 wOBA and .120 ISO.
With Luzardo in a strong matchup, the Phillies’ offense should be able to take care of Orioles starter Cade Povich. He’s struggled against both sides of the plate and now faces a lineup that’s posted a .338 wOBA and .176 ISO against lefties this season.
