Should Ashton Jeanty be Offensive Rookie of the Year Favorite? NFL Predictions, Betting Splits for Raiders

Published:

By: Nick Friar

Following their third consecutive sub-.500 season, the Raiders added one of the most exciting players available in the 2025 NFL Draft in Ashton Jeanty. But while Jeanty might garner the most hype of the Raiders‘ offseason additions, he certainly isn’t the only significant one. Las Vegas is also playing host to a Seattle reunion, with Pete Carroll now running the show and Geno Smith set to be his starting quarterback once again.

Even with all these changes, the Raiders‘ Win Total is somehow still the exact same as it was going into 2024. But does that mean there’s an opening for bettors on DraftKings Sportsbook? Let’s take a look at the numbers to find out.

Raiders Win Total

Like last year, the Raiders‘ preseason win total is stuck on 6.5. The good news for Raiders fans: Sharps seem to disagree with this assessment.ย

While the over on this betting option is a public play, it’s also proving to be a sharp one. That’s because the over has seen 93% of the handle on 67% of the bets.

To this point in our team breakdowns, these splits are among the most compelling โ€” especially when it comes to an over lean.

Ashton Jeanty Futures Splits

Jeanty opened at +200 to win Offensive Rookie of the Year. Despite his odds increasing to +275, he is the favorite, with Cam Ward having the second-shortest odds (+350). That movement is in part due to the action Jeanty has seen in this market. While 20% of the OROY bets have been placed on him, those plays have only accounted for 12% of the handle.

Similarly, 94% of the bets placed on his Regular Season Rushing Yards season-long prop (1050.5 yards), but those picks have only accounted for 72% of the handle.

Looking to the “ROOKIE WATCH” section, where bettors can back alternate lines for Jeanty’s Regular Season Rushing Yards and Regular Season Rushing TDs totals:

  • 1300+ is the most popular option by percentage of bets under Regular Season Rushing Yards. However, it also ranks 13th in handle.
  • 7+ is the second-most popular option by both percentage of handle and bets under Regular Season Rushing TDs.

Also worth noting in all of this: Jeanty (+1800) is second-most-bet player by handle in the Most Regular Season Rushing Yards market under the “STAT LEADERS” category of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Other Notable Player Prop Splits

Smith and a couple of his pass-catchers’ season-long props have interesting betting splits:

  • Smith’s Regular Season Passing Yards prop is set at 3575.5. The under has seen 56% of the handle on 35% of the bets.
  • Smith’s Regular Season Passing TDs prop is set at 20.5. The under has seen 51% of the handle on 13% of the bets.
  • Jakobi Meyers’ Regular Season Receiving TDs prop is set at 4.5. The under has seen 42% of the handle on one percent of the bets.
  • Brock Bowers’ Regular Season Receiving TDs prop is set at 5.5. The over has seen 98% of the handle on 99% of the bets.

The splits surrounding the Smith props are very much ones that you can lean on and act upon. The Bowers splits, not as much. That said, it’s understandable why so many are taking that over.

The Meyers splits are some of the most interesting ones we’ve seen yet. These sorts of plays don’t present long odds like Awards markets and such, so splitting up a unit isn’t going to provide the same sort of potential return. Still, it’s hard to ignore such a small amount of bets accounting for such a big piece of the pie.

Speaking of the Awards section: For those interested in the Coach of the Year discussion, Carroll has seen five percent of the handle on four percent of the bets made in this market.

While the data above will help you with season-long plays, the following stats produced by Meyers, Bowers and Smith in 2024 are instead applicable to gameday player props.

Jakobi Meyers

  • Receiving Yards: 10-4 to the over (Tied for third-best record against Receiving Yards prop closing line among all WRs in 2024.)
  • Receptions: 10-4 to the over (Tied for second-best record against Receptions prop closing line among all WRs in 2024.)

Brock Bowers

  • Receiving Yards: 9-7 to the over
  • Receptions: 9-7 to the over

Geno Smith (with Seattle)

  • Passing Yards: 10-7 to the under
  • Passing TDS: 13-4 to the under
