After an exciting early afternoon of action, Major League Baseball has a four-game wave at around 4:00 p.m. ET followed by the Sunday Night Baseball matchup in Philly to close out the weekend. In those five later games, 10 probable pitchers are ready to take the mound, providing plenty of different ways to attack the betting options on DraftKings Sportsbook. After breaking down the matchups and current form, my top starting pitcher prop bets for late Sunday are from Eduardo Rodriguez, Jacob deGrom and Cristopher Sanchez.

Best Starting Pitcher Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Eduardo Rodriguez over 5.5 hits allowed (+105)
Rodriguez gets the start for the Dbacks in Sacramento on Sunday in the deciding game of the teams’ three-game set. I highlighted Brent Rooker in my best home run props of the day, and overall, I think the A’s will be able to get to Rodriguez on Sunday.
The veteran lefty has given up at least six hits in each of his last four starts, going over this hits allowed line in each of those contests and giving up a total of 34 hits in 20 2/3 innings. On the season, he has allowed an average of 6.6 hits per game, so I’m a little surprised to get plus-money on this play.
The Athletics’ offense has been much improved this year after an awful 2024. As a team, they’re hitting .251, which is the 11th-highest mark in the majors. They average 8.6 hits per game overall and 8.9 hits per game at home at Sutter Health Park. They’ve also been trending up over the last month, averaging 9.0 hits per game.
Rodriguez is a lefty against a team that uses a lot of lefties in their regular lineup, but I think the Athletics will be able to put together a strong showing in Sacramento on Sunday afternoon, pushing Rodriguez over this hits allowed line.
Jacob deGrom over 1.5 earned runs allowed (-130)
Despite his remarkable comeback season, deGrom is another veteran that I’m picking against in my starting pitcher prop bets for this Sunday afternoon. The 37-year-old righty is 10-3 on the season with a 2.55 ERA, but I’ll take the Mariners to get at least two earned runs against him with this pick in my starting pitcher prop bets.
In his 21 starts, deGrom is averaging 1.7 earned runs allowed per outing. However, he has gone over this earned runs allowed line in four of his last five starts and in six of his last eight. The Angels got to him for five runs on seven hits in his last start, and I don’t hate taking him to give up 3+ earned runs at +180 as a more aggressive play if these odds aren’t long enough for you.
The Mariners faced deGrom twice this season. They only scored one earned run off him in Texas, but they reached him for three earned runs in four innings in his earlier start against them in Seattle.
At the trade deadline, the Mariners dramatically improved their lineup with the additions of Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suarez, and they have scored at least four runs in four straight games, including each of the first three in this series.
Since their lineup is trending up and deGrom has been scuffling a little bit lately, I feel comfortable that they’ll get multiple earned runs against him on Sunday afternoon.
Cristopher Sanchez over 18.5 outs recorded (+145)
I get it. This is a tough matchup against the Tigers and asking Sanchez to get at least one out in the seventh inning seems like a tall ask, which is why it comes at such nice, juicy, plus-money odds on Sunday Night Baseball. However, Sanchez has gone over this outs recorded line with regularity over his last several outings and still isn’t getting the credit he deserves as a workhorse in Philly’s starting rotation.
Sanchez has gotten at least 19 outs in five straight starts and in eight of his last nine, falling just one out short of going over this line in nine straight outings. During that stretch, the lefty twirled a complete game against the surging Red Sox and also went over this line against the Padres twice, the Blue Jays and the Giants. Sanchez is typically extremely efficient with his pitches and has only reached 100 pitches in three of those starts, never exceeding 106 pitches.
The Phillies obviously trust him to work deep into games and could use the length after needing three innings of high-leverage relief last night in their loss to Detroit.
The Tigers got nine hits and three runs off Zack Wheeler and finished with seven runs scored on Saturday. Overall, though, their offense has been struggling over the last month. They have the third-lowest batting average and sixth-lowest wOBA over the last month while averaging only 4.0 runs per game.
While there are several Sanchez picks I like a lot in this matchup, this is the one I’m including in my starting pitcher prop bets since it comes at such a good number based on how effective and efficient he has been lately.
