Saturday’s game at Bristol Motor Speedway between the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds carries a ton of excitement. Unfortunately, a rain delay threw cold water on the game. That includes forcing Braves starter Spencer Strider to skip the start.
Strider warmed up as if the game would be starting on time. But a lengthy rain delay forced him to sit and interrupt his routine. Braves manager Brian Snitker, out of an abundance of caution, decided to scratch him from the start. Austin Cox will open the game in his stead.
The good news is that Spencer Strider doesn’t have any actual injury. The Braves were afraid an injury could occur for the former Tommy John surgery patient, so they sat him. He should be available to make his next start, and will watch this one from the dugout.
