Fantasy NASCAR Driver Rankings: Iowa Corn 350 Powered by Ethanol at Iowa

  1. Christopher Bell ($10,200) — Despite starting the 2024 Iowa race at the back of the field in a backup car, Bell recorded the third-most fast laps. This isn’t surprising given his Xfinity Series performances at Iowa. If Bell had started up front, he likely would have dominated.
  2. Ryan Blaney ($10,700) — Dominating a NASCAR Cup Series race is rare with the Gen-7 stock car. Blaney was dominant at Iowa in the inaugural Cup Series race in 2024, scoring 118 fantasy points.
  3. Kyle Larson ($10,500) — The No. 5 Hendrick Chevy Team tested tires at Iowa before the 2024 race. The car had speed, but the team may have been too aggressive with their setup. Larson overcame tire issues and could pass at will, but the issues eventually caught up with him. He lost track position and was taken out on a restart.
  4. William Byron ($10,000) — Ryan Blaney dominated Iowa, but Byron was just as strong. If Byron had gotten out front and run in clean air, he could have scored over 100 fantasy points. However, he could never break through. He finished second and recorded the second-highest driver rating.
  5. Ricky Stenhouse Jr. ($5,700) — Iowa was unfamiliar to most of the field, but some drivers had Xfinity Series experience. Stenhouse had both experience and success—three Xfinity Series wins. His familiarity gave him a clear advantage. He drove through the field and earned a top-5 finish.
  1. Alex Bowman ($7,100) — Passing is challenging with the Gen-7 racing package. Bowman started 33rd and finished eighth, with an average running position of 12th. He clearly knows how to navigate Iowa.
  2. Chase Elliott ($9,800) — Clean air is king. Elliott started up front and stayed there at Iowa. He finished third and scored the fourth-most fast-lap points despite leading only one lap.
  3. Tyler Reddick ($9,500) — Practice matters, but track position matters more at Iowa. Reddick had the best car in practice, but his eighth-place starting position wasn’t ideal. He could never make his way forward.
  4. Denny Hamlin ($11,000) — Iowa is not a track where Hamlin has much experience. He looked good in practice, but his car was tight for most of the race. He battled and improved but wrecked on a restart while running inside the top 10.
  5. Kyle Busch ($8,200) — The story never changes: Will this be the week Busch bounces back? Are Busch and RCR past their prime? Rowdy was competitive until a restart wreck on lap 269. Busch tested the new tire for Iowa earlier this season.
  6. Chase Briscoe ($9,000) — The No. 19 JGR Toyota Team excels at qualifying. Track position is everything at Iowa. This car was fast last season with Martin Truex Jr. Briscoe was fast, but a vibration and a green-flag pit stop in Stage 2 cost him a lap.
  7. Todd Gilliland ($5,500) — Are Xfinity Series stats too obscure? How about K&N (ARCA) stats? Gilliland has two Iowa wins in NASCAR’s lowest national series. That experience seemed to matter last season with a top-15 finish. His crew chief, Chris Lawson, also earned a top-15 as the crew chief of the No. 51 Rick Ware Ford with Justin Haley.
  8. Justin Haley ($5,300) — Heading into Iowa, Haley is averaging a 20th-place finish over the last seven races. He earned a top-15 finish in the 2024 Iowa race while driving the No. 51 Rick Ware Ford.
  9. Joey Gase ($4,500) — This is the ultimate DFS NASCAR value pick. Gase and his Carl Long car unlock every lineup. Iowa is Gase’s home track, and he finished 16th in the 2024 Xfinity Series race with inferior equipment. While contenders wreck and blow tires, a slow and steady Gase could cautiously default into a top-25 finish.
  10. Austin Cindric ($6,900) — How much will the 2025 Iowa tire test matter? It mattered in 2024, as drivers with extra reps excelled. Tires were critical last season, and they will be again. Team Penske was fast in the inaugural Iowa event, but Cindric was the exception.
