I know that everyone’s focused on the Trade Deadline at the moment, but there is a six-game featured MLB DFS slate on DraftKings that gets going at 6:40 p.m. ET this evening. That’s fun, right?!

SP Will Warren, New York Yankees vs. Tampa Bay Rays, $7,800
I can’t lie. Outside of the two aces on this slate priced at or above $10,000, this is a pretty rough night for starting pitching. As such, you might as well aim as high as possible with your SP2. That means embracing the strikeout upside of Will Warren. You don’t have to look much further than Warren’s 4.82 ERA to know that the rookie has been inconsistent in 2025, but there are major bright spots with the young RHP. Mostly, it’s Warren’s 26.7% strikeout rate, and that’s translated into seven performances with at least 20 FPTS. That includes a season-best 33.2 FPTS against the Rangers back in late May.
Meanwhile, Tampa’s been a little cold throughout July, mustering just a .136 ISO and an 89 wRC+ as a team. The Rays have also been much better hitting at George M. Steinbrenner Field in 2025, though that spilt comes with an asterisk on Wednesday, as the club’s park in Florida is a carbon copy of Yankee Stadium. Take it with a grain of salt.
OF Angel Martinez, Cleveland Guardians vs. Colorado Rockies, $3,500
Martinez’s overall numbers for the Guardians are pretty terrible, yet the switch-hitter has been shockingly elite when coming to the plate as a right-handed bat. To wit, in his 109 plate appearances within the split, Martinez is slashing .320/.364/.526 with a .206 ISO and a 146 wRC+. There’s a reason that the outfielder has recently been slotted into the two-spot in Cleveland’s lineup when the club is facing a southpaw.
Tonight’s lefty? Kyle Freeland ($6,000). Obviously this game isn’t at Coors Field, so you can ignore some of Freeland’s more horrifying metrics, but it’s not like he suddenly becomes a Cy Young candidate when he leaves the altitude. Freeland still sports a 4.68 ERA and surrenders 1.40 opponent home runs per nine on the road.
OF Jordan Walker, St. Louis Cardinals vs. Miami Marlins, $2,700
Walker, who is still just 23-years-old, is back in the Cardinals’ lineup as an everyday player since the All-Star break. The sample size isn’t huge, but the early results have been solid, with Walker slashing .310/.383/.452 with a 138 wRC+ over 47 plate appearances. More importantly, at least for the purposes of tonight’s matchup with Cal Quantrill ($6,300), Walker is a right-handed bat.
Don’t get me wrong, Quantrill’s been good hitting for everyone he’s faced in 2025. The veteran RHP enters Wednesday’s action in possession of a 5.05 ERA and a 5.01 xERA. However, Quantrill owns some putrid reverse-splits in 2025, with opposing RHBs batting .349 with an eye-popping .615 slugging percentage. Feel free to stack the right-handed St. Louis assets of your choosing, yet Walker seems like an outstanding value.
